"Of the eight families, seven have made their move," the Second Divine Pillar said softly. He belonged to the academy faction, but whether he did or not no longer mattered.
They had crossed The Empire's bottom line. They deserved to die.
"I'll leave the matter of those seven families to you." The First Divine Pillar looked at Xia Jieyu and spoke gravely.
"Don't worry. Those seven families have been under watch for a long time. I just didn't expect them to truly take this step. How should the Taboos of those seven families be handled?" Xia Jieyu looked toward the Seven Divine Pillars.
This was ultimately an internal matter of The Empire and had nothing to do with the military. It was only natural for him to ask.
"Deal with them. The Taboos of those seven families cannot be allowed to remain," the First Divine Pillar said solemnly, his eyes heavy.
Xia Jieyu nodded, then left the space.
The Seven Divine Pillars remained behind and began their discussion.
"Once those seven families are dealt with, we'll need to support seven new families in rising up. We'll take responsibility for that," the First Divine Pillar said.
Those great families still had their uses. After all, the battlefronts stood behind them, and new families were needed to keep those battlefronts in check.
Although the Main World had become chaotic, that did not mean the Main World no longer needed governing. What needed to be managed still had to be managed.
At the very least, that was how things stood for now.
While the Seven Divine Pillars convened their meeting.
Within The Empire.
Su Ye woke from his great dream. There was no helping it—the cultivation world was too difficult to survive in. Every last one of them was a scheming old fox.
