The Gods' Intentions! Bulma and Yamcha

As Son Goku relayed Kami's words, the atmosphere shifted once again.

It was no longer as serious or as oppressive as before.

Perhaps now that everything had been explained and everyone understood the situation, they could see the bigger picture. Even Kami's sudden appearance could no longer shock those present.

Of course, one person was still completely bewildered.

That person was naturally Raditz.

The title "Kami" had left him dumbfounded.

The word "god" could mean so many things.

"Kakarot, are you serious? A god?! A planet like Earth has a legendary being like that?" Raditz asked urgently.

Now that he thought back to Kakarot and Piccolo's earlier conversation, his brain cells began working overtime...

He eventually reached a conclusion: that Namekian and the so-called Kami had originally been one being, but had split into two for some reason.

In other words, Kami was also a Namekian?

Raditz was going numb. Everything he'd seen and heard today had overturned his imagination, and now a Namekian Kami had appeared? What was that supposed to mean???

Ultimately, this was a setting in this world that was practically a bug.

Kami was the god of a planet!

And not every planet had a Kami. Only exceptional planets gave rise to one.

Otherwise, with countless planets in the Dragon Ball world, there would be countless Kamis.

You could only say that whether a planet gave rise to a Kami depended, first, on the planet's history and, second, on the state of its life... and finally, on whether there was a divine lineage to pass on.

By the standards of extraterrestrial powers, Earth was small.

But despite its size, Earth touched every domain. It had places connected to the Other World, and people who served there... It was even linked to many special dimensions, sharing borders with realms like the Demon Realm...

"Our Earth really does have a Kami. I just don't know whether he's anything like the god you imagined, Elder Brother," Son Goku replied with a nod.

Then, without paying any mind to how shocked Raditz was, he looked toward Krillin, Master Roshi, and Bulma.

Before he could say anything, Krillin and Master Roshi were already voicing their amazement.

"I can't believe Kami already knows what's going on. Does that mean he's going to guide us in our training, too?" Krillin said, a little excited.

Years ago, Goku's strength had surged under Kami's guidance.

Times had changed, but in Krillin's eyes, Kami was still Kami—a being high above them all.

"Since Kami already has a plan, we should all go there together. It's just a shame that Yamcha and Tien Shinhan are nowhere to be found. Otherwise... sigh!" As Master Roshi spoke, he couldn't help letting out a sigh.

As fellow martial artists and warriors who protected Earth, Master Roshi believed Yamcha and Tien Shinhan were capable of shouldering the responsibility.

At the very least, they were much more suited to it than an old man like him.

The ship of time kept sailing forward, but he knew full well that he'd gotten off long ago.

Even if he climbed back aboard now, it would be too late.

"Speaking of which, I'd wanted to ask earlier, but Elder Brother's sudden arrival threw me off. Tien Shinhan's probably traveling the world and training, given his personality, right? What about Yamcha? Bulma, do you know? Is there any way to contact him?" Son Goku murmured, then suddenly turned to Bulma.

Bulma had always been with Yamcha among their group. Goku had thought he'd see Yamcha at Kame House this time, but he'd only found Bulma there.

"Don't even ask. I don't know if that guy's alive or dead. Hmph." At Son Goku's question, Bulma gave a quiet snort and turned away.

The young lady's temper had flared, and she looked like nothing anyone said would change her mind.

At this point, she could have put their past squabbles aside.

Perhaps because Lin Chuan had changed the story, Son Goku was still alive and the situation wasn't especially bad. So Bulma hadn't set aside her own feelings to notify Yamcha, as she had in the Original Work.

To Lin Chuan, this was an opportunity.

Early in the Dragon Ball story, Bulma and Yamcha had been in a relationship that wasn't quite a romance.

Various factors had made them feel like a first love, but not quite one, so their relationship was nothing like that of an ordinary couple.

In the end, they were two people who were utterly unsuited for each other, yet had somehow wound up together.

And their relationship lasted for a full decade or more.

Others might not know, but how could Lin Chuan, a Transmigrator, not know what was going on?

It was all because of her own feelings that Bulma couldn't let go. She kept giving Yamcha chances to change his ways, waiting for him to come to his senses.

After all, young Bulma was so innocent that all she wanted was a handsome, powerful prince who would care for and cherish her.

Yamcha was the first capable, good-looking man to appear in her life. Once he became her boyfriend, she decided he was the person she'd spend her life with.

So even after Yamcha "betrayed" her several times, she still gave him another chance.

But the result was that Yamcha only pushed things further each time, eventually becoming a full-fledged playboy.

Looking at Yamcha's life, he never got married or had children, and even his life in general turned out terribly bleak.

As for his place among the Z Fighters, Yamcha was also the first to be pushed aside. After the Z era, he was even forgotten.

Son Goku would rather choose Master Roshi for the Tournament of Power than even consider having him compete.

In truth, if Yamcha had had even a little sense—or, for that matter, acted like a man—and curbed his wandering eye and tried just a little harder, Bulma absolutely wouldn't have been stolen away by Vegeta.

Once Bulma decided someone was the one, she didn't change her mind easily.

It took more than a decade of inner turmoil before she finally gave up on Yamcha completely.

Then, later on, Vegeta—who was destined to enter her life—happened to appear...

At this rate, Bulma and Yamcha's relationship must already be completely broken. If Son Goku hadn't died in the Original Work, Yamcha probably wouldn't have gotten another chance to earn Bulma's forgiveness... Come to think of it, this was when their relationship started to fall apart. Even if Bulma forgave Yamcha later, the Saiyan invasion and Yamcha's death would separate them for nearly two years... Lin Chuan thought to himself, passing judgment.

Thinking back on the Original Work, was Yamcha's life tragic?

It certainly was!

But he had brought it on himself, too.

He lacked the strength, yet was eager to prove himself, and always ended up being the first to suffer a setback.
