The next day.
Early morning.
Lin Chuan was still asleep when Son Gohan's knocking woke him up.
It was the first time he'd slept in since coming to Earth.
It wasn't that Lin Chuan didn't want to get up. He was having the kind of wonderful dream every man wished for, and couldn't bring himself to choose between waking up and staying asleep. So he deliberately dozed a little longer, lingering in the dream.
He was just one step away from experiencing the ultimate pleasure.
Then Son Gohan had to come along and ruin it at just the wrong moment.
His irritation flared, but he couldn't take it out on the boy.
He was just a child. What did he know?
After getting up and washing up, Lin Chuan changed into fresh clothes and headed downstairs.
He had to admit, Bulma had taken such thoughtful care of him that everything had been arranged down to the smallest detail. Since arriving, he hadn't found himself wanting for anything.
He entered the dining room.
Chi-Chi chatted with Bulma while she and the household robot busily prepared breakfast.
Lin Chuan and Son Gohan both had big appetites, so even with a whole table full of breakfast dishes, Chi-Chi kept working.
When Lin Chuan arrived, the conversation between Bulma and Chi-Chi abruptly stopped.
Their eyes met, and they were both reminded of the awkwardness from the night before.
Whatever Bulma was thinking, after eating a few more bites, she picked up another serving of breakfast and left.
Before she went, she shot Lin Chuan a glare, almost as if to warn him.
But with her cheeks flushed red, she didn't look very stern or angry. If anything, she seemed a little more charming.
