The Ninth Floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick.
Naiyuan arrived in front of a door. He was just about to push it open when he stopped, having remembered something.
He reached out to adjust his attire, ensuring everything was in order, before gently knocking on the door.
"Come in."
Momonga's authoritative voice reached Naiyuan's ears, making him chuckle involuntarily. He then opened the door and stepped inside.
Inside the room, Momonga was busy fiddling with something in front of a mirror, while Sebas stood quietly to the side, watching the scene in silence.
On the sofa, Herohero, having taken the form of a humanoid Slime, was resting his head on Solution's lap, eating the fruit she was continuously feeding him. He looked extremely content.
Her fingers, along with the fruit, sank directly into Herohero's face, which was composed of viscous liquid. Following a ripple of movement across his face, the fruit was completely digested by the time she pulled her fingers back out, coated in slime.
"What are you doing, Momonga?"
"And Herohero, you've fallen into decadence way too quickly."
Naiyuan asked Momonga, then turned his head to tease Herohero, who was currently enjoying himself.
"Oh, it's you, Naiyuan. You don't need to knock next time. While I'm happy you're being polite, it feels incredibly out of place."
Momonga looked up at Naiyuan as he spoke. Back when they lived in the same apartment, this guy had never been this polite when entering his home; he would always act like he owned the place, to the point where Momonga sometimes wondered whose home it actually was.
Politeness was a virtue, but when it came to Naiyuan, it just felt wrong.
"Hey, hey, I'm being polite for once, and you're actually unhappy about it?"
Seeing Momonga urge him not to be so polite, Naiyuan felt instantly offended. Good grief, what kind of person was he in the other's eyes before?
"You're killing me. It seems like you and Momonga have been through a lot of interesting things, Naiyuan."
Herohero, lying on Solution's lap, let out a mocking laugh.
"I have plenty of stories about Momonga, but I'm not telling you. Just to spite you."
Naiyuan stuck his tongue out at Herohero.
Naiyuan didn't say anything in response to Herohero's mockery; he figured he would just laugh it back at him later.
"Momonga, you guy, don't go ruining my reputation."
Walking over to Momonga's side, Naiyuan locked the other's skull in a headlock with his arm.
Naiyuan was quite petty about Momonga slandering him, so he immediately began his retaliation.
"Cough, cough, let go, Naiyuan. My bones, my bones are going to crack."
Feeling his skull being clamped, Momonga began to struggle frantically. His bony hands struck Naiyuan's arm repeatedly, but the blows appeared exceptionally weak.
Sebas, standing to the side, silently retreated into a corner; the affairs of the Supreme Beings were not for him to interfere with.
He could tell that the two Supreme Beings were not truly angry.
"Now you know how tough I am, be more careful next time."
Feeling that was enough, Naiyuan finally chose to let go, then said to him with a beaming smile.
Hearing this, Momonga merely rolled his eyes at Naiyuan and didn't say anything further. If the other party gave him another go, his old bones wouldn't be able to take it.
[Message.]
"Herohero, it looks like Naiyuan is fine now."
"He's as normal as can be."
Momonga sent a message to Herohero, who was standing nearby.
"On the surface, there really isn't anything wrong. It seems this guy has already recovered, making the two of us worry for nothing."
"If I had known, I wouldn't have waited just now; I should have gone straight to him."
Herohero replied with a hint of regret. He had prepared several plans, but he hadn't expected Naiyuan to adjust himself before he could even implement them.
"It's good that he's fine, it saves me from worrying about this and that constantly."
"Seeing that Naiyuan is still as carefree as ever, I can finally rest easy."
Momonga felt a sense of relief; he was happy that his friend had managed to recover on his own.
Earlier, when Sebas had entered with the items, he had explained to him and Herohero what had happened in the hallway.
Upon hearing that Naiyuan was in a bad mood and looked listless, the two of them had worried for a long time.
If it hadn't been for the thought of letting the other party have some peace and quiet, and not wanting to disturb him for the time being, Momonga would have rushed out to have a heart-to-heart with Naiyuan long ago. In the end, he had been painstakingly held back by Herohero, who insisted that they should give him some time.
Ending the call, Momonga acted as if nothing had happened and returned to his seat.
Since Naiyuan hadn't come to them to vent and had chosen to bear it himself, he must have had his reasons. As a friend, the only thing Momonga needed to do now was to play along and treat everything as if it had never occurred.
The matter was resolved, and Naiyuan had recovered, so the process no longer mattered.
"Speaking of which, Naiyuan, you're sleeping in again. Even after transmigrating to this Otherworld, it seems that habit of yours hasn't changed."
"You slept until noon, making Herohero and me wait for you at the Cafeteria all morning for breakfast."
Momonga relaxed, then shot a look of mild reproach at Naiyuan.
He and Herohero had both woken up early, intending for the three of them to enjoy a happy breakfast together.
Yet, after waiting and waiting, it was nearly noon, and Naiyuan still hadn't shown up.
"Uh, about that, did we actually have an agreement to eat breakfast?"
"What do you think?"
"Would you like me to help you refresh your memory, Naiyuan? About those few words we said before we parted ways last night?"
Herohero lay with his head on Solution's lap, speaking slowly as he looked at Naiyuan.
"Fine, I forgot."
Seeing the death glares both of them were directing at him, Naiyuan shrugged nonchalantly.
He wore the expression of a dead pig that wasn't afraid of boiling water, signaling that they could do whatever they wanted.
"I wasn't planning on making you do anything, just reminding you not to forget next time."
Shaking his head, Momonga warned him helplessly.
When it came to a guy like Naiyuan, Momonga couldn't bring himself to scold him, and he couldn't beat him even if he tried, so all he could do was offer a few words of caution.
Though he knew there was an eighty percent chance the other would forget the moment he turned around—if it were that easy to break the habit of sleeping in, he wouldn't have had to wake him up every single morning before work back in the day.
"Do you know how painful it is to look at delicious food and not be able to eat it? Naiyuan, if you oversleep again, I'm going to your room and dragging you out myself."
Herohero threatened Naiyuan in an intimidating tone, making it clear that he wouldn't be so polite next time and that he should watch himself.
"So, you two didn't eat?"
Naiyuan looked at them with some confusion.
"Eat what? You never showed up."
Herohero complained; if he had already eaten, he wouldn't be lying here letting Solution feed him fruit.
Although the fruit in Nazarick was high-end, it couldn't compare to the taste of meat.
"After all, with you not here, Naiyuan, neither Herohero nor I had much of an appetite, so we didn't eat."
Momonga explained. It didn't really matter to him; as an Undead, he had no need for food.
The only one suffering was Herohero, since he still required sustenance.
Even though he had told him that morning that he didn't have to wait for Naiyuan and could eat first, the other had refused, stating that if everyone wasn't present, there was no point in eating.
"My apologies then, Herohero. Next time I oversleep, I'll leave it to you."
Naiyuan chuckled as he walked over to Herohero, then promptly lay down on the sofa beside him.
"You guy... you want to turn me into an alarm clock? You've got some nerve."
Herohero was speechless. The sheer shamelessness of the other man had refreshed his understanding; even at a time like this, he was still thinking about using him as free labor.
If he actually agreed, Herohero was certain that given Naiyuan's personality, he would definitely follow through. If he didn't go wake him up, the guy would sleep until noon.
"Leave it to me then. I've done it plenty of times before anyway."
Momonga watched the two of them calmly, offering to take responsibility for waking Naiyuan up in the future.
Since he had been the one dragging Naiyuan out of bed every day before they were transported, he could say he was quite practiced at this chore.
"I didn't think I'd still be troubling you even after coming to this Otherworld, Momonga. I'm truly sorry."
Recalling the decades where he had been dragged out of bed by the other man almost every single day—which was the only reason he hadn't been late for work—Naiyuan suddenly felt a bit embarrassed.
"As long as you know. If you come across anything good in the future, you have to let me know first, got it?"
"Hehe. Definitely, definitely!"
