Background / History
Nazarick was built around the members of Ainz Ooal Gown, whose forty-two banners remain displayed within its halls. Its facilities and treasures represent the guild’s most significant shared achievements, including items created through past group efforts. 14
Its treasury accumulated vast quantities of dragon-class materials because Naiyuan repeatedly hunted dragons for permanent stat gains. Even before entering the Otherworld, Nazarick’s equipment stock was overwhelmingly divine-tier; its NPCs commonly carried legendary- or divine-tier weapons. 5 7
After being transported to the Otherworld, Nazarick found itself relocated from its original swamp surroundings to open grassland. Momonga, Naiyuan, and Herohero responded by ordering concealment, intelligence coordination, and reinforced defenses. Mare buried the exterior walls beneath earth and vegetation, making the tomb blend into the surrounding forest. 25 86
The tomb became the operational center for Nazarick’s intelligence gathering, nation-building, experiments, imprisonment, resource processing, and campaigns against outside powers. Its leadership later used World Items and acquired facilities to expand its defensive and logistical reach. 51 125 428
Following the evolution of the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown into a World Item, Nazarick underwent subtle facility changes. Its pocket world expanded dramatically and was later incorporated with the Floating City, Crystal City, and Silver Comet through the World Item Genesis, creating a larger world-sized stronghold protected by an outer defensive world. 517 567
Layout and Defenses
Eighth Floor
The Eighth Floor is Nazarick’s ultimate defensive zone: a desolate wilderness filled with traps capable of instantly killing even a level 100 intruder. 39 208
- During a past invasion by more than a thousand top-tier players, Victim’s death-triggered curse reduced the invaders’ resistances, enabling hidden traps to destroy the entire force. 39
- Victim and Sephis jointly guard the area. 39
- The Cherry Blossom Sanctuary lies within the floor and houses Aureole Omega, the true Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown, Rubedo, and special NPCs. 208
- Aureole’s special NPC subordinates can temporarily rival weaker level 100 players when enhanced by her. They guard the Guild Weapon and can be deployed against Rubedo if necessary. 208
Outer Concealment
Nazarick’s exterior was disguised after its relocation.
- Original walls were covered with soil, vines, and vegetation through Mare’s magic. 86
- The surrounding forest became a preliminary defense system capable of severely injuring a level 100 player at full activation. 86
- Visitors approaching through the Forest of Tob encountered twisted, apparently living trees, a mausoleum-like entrance, and architecture decorated with skeleton, Dragonoid, insect, demon, and bird-man motifs. 175
Pocket World Defense Network
Nazarick’s pocket world is powered by a Caloric Stone and had expanded to approximately 30 million square kilometers, with an underground depth of about 500,000 meters. 517
- Outer regions contain hundreds of monsters around level 80, including Tree Demons, Golems, Parasitic Organisms, Elementals, Burrowing Demon Worms, and Mimic Slimes. 517
- Inner defensive rings contain Mercenary NPC monsters generally around level 90. 517
- The defenses are supported by Mercenary NPCs summoned from books in the Ancient Library, with gold consumed according to a summoned creature’s level. 517
- The Coin Exchange Box can endlessly convert deposited equipment, materials, and items into currency, allowing Nazarick to sustain unusually large-scale summoning. 517
Facilities
- Throne Room — Tenth Floor command chamber where the Supreme Beings convene Floor Guardians, Area Guardians, Battle Maids, and other NPCs to issue Nazarick-wide orders. 52

Resources and Equipment
- Dragon-class materials — Nazarick possesses abundant bones, hearts, horns, blood, and other dragon resources. 5 7
- Divine-tier equipment — Nazarick’s inventory includes more divine-grade items than all lower weapon tiers combined; Cocytus’s forging further improved access to such gear. 406
- World Items — Used for intelligence extraction, confinement, regeneration, planar access, NPC development, and the construction of independent worlds. 117 125 428 567
- Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown — Guild Weapon guarded in the Cherry Blossom Sanctuary; later transformed into a World Item through a high-risk process. 208 371
- Caloric Stone — Powers Nazarick’s pocket world and is associated with Rubedo’s exceptional strength. 208 517
- Platinum Dragon Lord perpetual-motion system — The Cup of Hygieia kept the captured Platinum Dragon Lord alive while its body, blood, and essence were continuously harvested. 125

Trivia
- Nazarick’s NPCs consider the guild itself second only to the Supreme Beings in importance. 448
- The tomb’s continued existence is emotionally inseparable from its Supreme Beings; Demiurge believed Nazarick would no longer truly be Nazarick without them. 53
- Its later title, World Tomb, reflects its expansion beyond a conventional guild base into a fortress spanning and defending against multiple worlds. 517
