Buggy asked with a serious expression.
"Sink the Holy Land?" Vegapunk's eyes widened. "In theory... setting off the explosions simultaneously could do that. After all, there really is a massive hollow directly beneath Mary Geoise."
"If the balance between them were broken..."
He stared straight at Joker, ignoring the Sand Worm that had caught Old Bei's interest at first.
"It could trigger a global catastrophe!"
"There'd be massive earthquakes across the Red Line, enormous tsunamis at sea, and the sea level would rise again!"
"Countless people would die!"
At the thought of it, the great scientist shuddered.
"No, I can't do that..."
Buggy gave him a strange look, then reached out and patted Vegapunk's apple-shaped head.
As a Brain-Brain Fruit user, Old Bei's brain had unlimited capacity, but his head would keep growing.
To solve the problem, he had separated his brain and stored it in the core area of the Experimental Level, relying on an antenna to receive radio waves instead.
The apple on his head now was a receiver.
Buggy suspected its signal wasn't very good.
Otherwise, why would Old Bei say something like that?
"Isn't this exactly the outcome you want?" His eyes narrowed. "The time bombs in Zephyr's hands, the Mother Flame, and the Fusion Reactor—all of them were your doing."
"And now you're saying you can't do it?"
Buggy considered whether to take a more forceful approach.
"Let me explain."
Pythagoras beckoned. A few of Old Bei's satellites were aboard the Ark, too.
"This was our decision."
"The original Vegapunk couldn't accept it, so he chose to block it out... and let it happen."
Pythagoras clearly had a lot to explain. He brought over two cups of coffee.
The Ark was enormous. Buggy, Hancock, and Pythagoras sat in a corner of the aft deck on
