On the sidelines, Ebisu's classmates were stunned.
"Ebisu blocked it?"
"Is he that strong?"
"Those people earlier were all taken down in one move!"
"Ebisu can actually fight that person to this extent?"
"Amazing, Ebisu!"
Hearing these voices, a strange feeling surged in Ebisu's heart.
But before he could figure it out, Shin-chan swung his blade again.
Ebisu blocked it again.
Then another strike.
Another strike.
Each strike wasn't very fast, and each strike was perfectly timed for Ebisu to block.
Ebisu gradually understood.
This guy... was playing around?
On the sidelines, Kakashi watched this scene, his mouth twitched, and he subconsciously glanced towards the referee's area.
Yūnagi Asagi was watching the match intently, a faint smile on his face.
Kakashi looked again at the Red Figure in the arena who was fighting "back and forth," and shook his head.
This guy was hopeless.
"Clang."
Another collision.
Ebisu panted heavily, sweat already beading on his forehead. But he looked at Shin-chan opposite him. The other party wasn't even out of breath, and even occasionally glanced towards the referee's area.
Ebisu followed his gaze.
On the referee's stand, the beautiful female teacher was looking this way.
Ebisu suddenly felt like he understood something. He took two steps back, raised his hand, and shouted, "I forfeit."
The sidelines erupted in an uproar.
"Why did Ebisu forfeit?"
"Wasn't he fighting well?"
"Yeah, he could fight that person for so long, why forfeit?"
Hearing these voices, Ebisu gave a bitter smile.
Fighting for so long?
That's because the other person never intended to win against me.
Shin-chan stood in place, a look of lingering desire on his face.
"Huh? He forfeited already?"
Ebisu ignored him and turned to leave the stage.
Shin-chan blinked, looked at the Wooden Sword in his hand, and then at the referee's stand.
Asagi-sensei was recording something, then looked up and smiled at him.
Shin-chan's heart almost leaped out of his chest.
"Shin Nohara, winner." Teacher Ibuki's voice rang out, "Next match."
Shin-chan finally came back to his senses, holding the Wooden Sword, and walked off the stage, looking back repeatedly.
As he reached the edge of the stage, he bumped into Kakashi.
Kakashi looked at him, his eyes complex.
"You did that on purpose."
Shin-chan blinked: "Did what on purpose?"
Kakashi didn't speak, just glanced towards the referee's stand.
Shin-chan followed his gaze and then chuckled.
"Kakashi, do you think Asagi-sensei saw that just now?"
Kakashi was silent for two seconds.
"He did."
Shin-chan's eyes curved into two crescent moons.
"That's good then."
Kakashi looked at his satisfied expression and suddenly didn't know what to say.
This guy.
All for this?
The list of the Top Four quickly came out.
Kakashi Hatake, Shin Nohara, Uchiha Toru, Mitarai Anko.
The atmosphere on the playground was much more fervent than before. The eliminated children gathered around, and even the teachers put down their record books and watched the center of the field intently.
The first match of the Semifinals, Mitarai Anko versus Kakashi Hatake.
Anko used a Kunai, her offense fierce like a Little Beast, but Kakashi blocked steadily, finally seizing an Opening and knocking her wrist with the flat of his blade.
The Kunai flew out of her hand.
"Winner, Kakashi Hatake."
Anko bit her lip, glared at Kakashi unwillingly, and turned to leave the field.
Then, the second match.
"Shin Nohara, versus Uchiha Toru."
The noise at the edge of the field suddenly quieted, then buzzed.
"Uchiha Toru? From the Uchiha Clan?"
"I heard his family is very strict, he's been training since he was young."
"Shin Nohara isn't weak either, he won all his previous matches in one move."
"Can that be compared? Those previous opponents can compare to someone from the Uchiha Clan?"
Shin-chan held his Wooden Sword and slowly walked into the field.
Opposite him, Uchiha Toru also walked over.
The two stood still.
Shin-chan looked at Uchiha Toru and blinked.
"Xiao Che, we've never fought before, have we?"
Uchiha Toru nodded, his expression serious: "Mm, this is the first time."
"Then you better be careful, I'm very strong."
Uchiha Toru (he) paused, then smiled, "I know."
"Begin!"
As soon as Teacher Ibuki's (he) voice fell, Shin-chan (he) moved.
A red figure flashed, and the wooden sword already slashed over.
Uchiha Toru's (he) pupils contracted. He dodged sideways, simultaneously thrusting a kunai back towards Shin-chan's (he) ribs.
Shin-chan (he) blocked with his sword. With a "clang," they both retreated a step.
A gasp erupted from the sidelines.
"He blocked it?"
"Uchiha Toru (he) actually blocked that person's first strike?"
"The people before were all gone in one move!"
Uchiha Toru's (he) eyes were fixed on Shin-chan (he), secretly astonished.
Such speed.
If he hadn't prepared beforehand, he wouldn't have been able to dodge that move at all.
Shin-chan (he) also looked at him, his eyes brightening.
"Xiao Che (he), you're amazing."
Uchiha Toru (he) didn't speak. He gripped his kunai and charged forward.
The kunai stabbed towards Shin-chan's (he) shoulder. As Shin-chan (he) dodged sideways, his wooden sword swept across. Uchiha Toru (he) couldn't dodge in time.
With a "bang," white smoke exploded.
Shin-chan (he) blinked.
As the smoke dispersed, only a wooden stake remained in its place.
A gasp came from the sidelines.
"Substitution Technique? Using Substitution Technique in the First Year?"
"That's only required for the Graduation Exam."
"The Uchiha Clan (he) is indeed different!"
Shin-chan (he) paused, then felt wind behind him. Without turning his head, he swept his wooden sword backward.
"Clang."
The kunai was blocked. Uchiha Toru's attack missed, but he didn't stop his offensive as he leaped back, forming hand seals.
Snake, Sheep, Monkey...
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique!"
Uchiha Toru took a deep breath, and a ball of flame erupted from his mouth, rapidly expanding into a fireball over a meter in diameter, whistling towards Shin-chan.
On the sidelines, the students' eyes widened.
"Fire Style!"
"Uchiha Toru knows Fire Style?"
"No way, how old is he?"
Teacher Ibuki stood at the edge of the field, leaning forward slightly, ready to intervene at any moment.
The instant the fireball struck, Shin-chan dodged to the side. The fireball grazed the hem of his clothes and smashed into the ground two meters behind him, exploding in a shower of sparks.
"Amazing," Shin-chan said with genuine admiration, "Xiao Che, you can breathe fire."
Uchiha Toru panted, not replying.
The Great Fireball Technique was still too much for him; this one move had nearly depleted half of his Chakra.
But Uchiha Toru didn't stop. As he threw a shuriken, he formed hand seals again.
"Fire Style: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique!"
Over a dozen small fireballs flew towards Shin-chan from all directions, like scattered petals.
The gasps from the sidelines grew louder.
"Another Fire Style!"
"How many ninjutsu does he even know?"
"Is this really a First Year?"
