"With great power comes great responsibility, right? You can't expect me to go, you're made of metal, you can take bullets." Sun Jack said earnestly to Taipai.
"You bastard." Taipai clenched the gun in his hand, his anti-joint legs pushing hard against the ground, and charged directly at the people behind them.
The various bullets fired from the front quickly caught up with Taipai's figure, eventually drawing a torrent of curses from the other side.
"Haha! It worked!" Sun Jack watched the two sides exchanging fire, and excitedly clenched his fists.
With a "噗嗤" sound, the smile on Sun Jack's face froze.
He trembled and looked down, only to see a bloody Arc Blade piercing through his abdomen. As the blade was pulled out, scalding blood sprayed out.
Clutching his stomach, Sun Jack turned to look behind him, but found no one there, only a bloody blade suspended in mid-air.
Under his gaze, a bald man with Metal Prosthetics for both arms and an Inverted Cross Brand on his neck sneered as he canceled his Mimic Camouflage, revealing his true form. "batard"
"You son of a bitch!" Sun Jack roared, raising the rifle in his hand.
But with a flash of cold light, in just an instant, his gun-wielding right arm was severed into three pieces.
Time seemed to stop at this moment. Watching the marrow from his severed bone tumble out in mid-air, Sun Jack felt the immense despair of the gap between prosthetics and flesh. "Am I going to die?"
The next moment, time resumed. Intense gunfire erupted, bullets from the left blocking the bald man.
Glancing at Sun Jack, who was now almost a bloody mess, the opponent sneered, quickly activated his Mimic Camouflage, and disappeared from the spot.
Just as Sun Jack was about to fall, Taipai, holding his rifle, rushed over and dragged him away from the battle.
Because of his actions, the two sides had already started fighting and couldn't pay attention to them for the moment.
"Am I going to die?" The delayed pain finally arrived, and Sun Jack, his consciousness blurring, said intermittently.
Taipai quickly dragged Sun Jack to a low-lying area out of the line of fire. "You're not going to die!"
As he extended his hand, the slender optical fiber that had previously hacked into the computer quickly burrowed into Sun Jack's body, rapidly stitching up the ruptured blood vessels. The bleeding was decreasing rapidly.
But it wasn't enough. Sun Jack was already close to hemorrhagic shock.
Taipai quickly used a sensor line to check Sun Jack's blood type, scanned the surroundings quickly, and pulled back a tattered corpse from outside. As the sensor line was inserted into the blood vessels, the semi-transparent sensor line began to gradually turn blood-red, and another was inserted into Sun Jack's body.
"Wait... wait! I'm not dead yet!" The other person struggled to open his eyes.
Taipai raised his fist and smashed it hard against his head, directly caving in his skull. "You're dead now."
As the still-warm blood was rapidly infused into Sun Jack's body, his deathly pale face gradually regained its color.
Taipai quickly scanned the surroundings with his radar for anything useful. Finally, after injecting Sun Jack with the painkillers and stimulant he found on the corpse, he finally woke up.
Sun Jack, reopening his eyes, looked at the gray, rainy sky and cursed fiercely, "Fuck!"
Sun Jack was incredibly glad he'd brought Taipai online with him. If he hadn't had this Prehistoric Robot, he might have lost his life just now.
"Let's go quickly. If you don't move, you won't be able to do anything. I don't have any anti-infection medicine, and your wound was exposed to Acid Rain. If you don't find a doctor, you won't live much longer."
Taipai finished speaking and, supporting Sun Jack, prepared to leave.
"Wait." Sun Jack, enduring the pain, stopped as he looked at the corpse with the caved-in head.
This person appeared to be a Mercenary. The black Prosthetic Limbs on both arms looked incredibly high-tech. His clothes were tattered with bullet holes, making him look quite pathetic.
He had a Skull Tattoo on his left cheek, messy Dreadlocks, and two large Nose Rings. He didn't look like a good person by any means.
Sun Jack glanced at his own empty right arm, then at the corpse's metal Prosthetic Limb. "Can I have it installed on me?"
The thought of the Baldy who had nearly killed him just before made the anger in Sun Jack's heart impossible to quell. Was he just bullying him because he didn't have a Prosthetic Limb?
Sun Jack wasn't just acting on impulse. Who knew if the enemy had already left? They could be lying in wait nearby using Invisibility. At this moment, he needed to restore his combat effectiveness as much as possible.
"Installing too many Prosthetic Limbs can lead to Cyberpsychosis."
"Look at our current situation, is this the time to discuss that? Let's focus on surviving and getting out of here first!" The sounds of gunfire and explosions all around made Sun Jack unable to care about anything else. In this environment, losing an arm was no different from being crippled.
"Okay, you're the boss." Taipai's fingers quickly switched to tools, and he began to dismantle the opponent's metal right arm.
While the painkillers were still effective, he quickly cut through the torn flesh and broken bones. Soon, the matte black metal arm was transplanted onto Sun Jack.
As a sharp, tingling sensation spread through his nerves, Sun Jack found that his right hand could move again.
He placed the metal arm in front of him, slowly opening and closing his hand. He felt like his hand had returned.
With a "clang," a blade crackling with electricity extended from his forearm. The blade reflected Sun Jack's excited expression.
With a "click-clack," the blade retracted rapidly. His five metal fingers bent backward, pressing close to his arm. A dark Muzzle opened in a spiral from his palm.
This Prosthetic Limb could even mount a cannon. It was clear that many of the explosions nearby were caused by this thing.
Starting to feel the pain, Sun Jack picked up the painkiller stimulant from the ground and injected it directly into his thigh. As his pupils contracted, he felt like the world had suddenly brightened.
"Looks like I've struck gold." Sun Jack, his mobility restored, put the remaining painkiller stimulant in his pocket and gritted his teeth as he stood up.
He didn't retreat immediately. Instead, he went directly to the area where the two groups had clashed and fired a few shots at the group that had been chasing him.
Seeing the explosion fires in the distance, Sun Jack finally felt that his injuries didn't hurt as much.
"Let's go!" Sun Jack, with Taipai, prepared to leave, but a trembling hand grabbed his left foot. "Wait... wait!"
Sun Jack looked down and saw a figure with a caved-in head and missing right arm looking up at him. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was the original owner of his right arm.
