So many people wondered: what exactly were these guys after?
Was it just to show everyone how damn impressive they were?
Well, there really was an element of that to it.
That was the power of publicity!
Out of curiosity, Li Wei had once seen a rather amusing set of figures: at least three percent of a certain organization's funding had been spent on media propaganda alone. That was already a huge sum.
Because no matter what one did, once one's reputation grew, the benefits would not be few.
First of all, doing so could please the backers behind the major organizations, letting them know that the real gold and silver they had poured in had at least made some noise. They might even further increase their investment in the organization.
Li Wei would bet his life that the reason Jenisar had managed to exist in Calimshan for so long, aside from their own efforts and tenacity, was that they certainly had supporters backing them from the shadows.
For example, Tethyr to the north of the Marching Mountains, too preoccupied with its royal family's split and standoff to attend to anything else.
Or Veldas, and those elves in Sylmista Forest.
Perhaps they had no interest in Jenisar's so-called "slave liberation movement." Perhaps those elves did not particularly care about the plight or survival of a few half-elves, either.
But as long as the rebel organization "Jenisar" continued to exist, embedded in Calimshan like a nail and making their potential enemy uncomfortable, it would be worth every penny.
Second, just as Li
