On the hill, a man dressed in what looked like a wrinkled leather coat staggered forward with great difficulty. His strength exhausted to the limit, he could only shove the girl in front of him away and make her run first.
The man shakily stood up and drew his curved blade, staring desperately at the insects not far away as he roared:

He swung the curved blade wildly, as if trying to bolster his own courage.
The few people fleeing ahead had no time to say anything more. They simply grabbed the sobbing girl and continued running without looking back.
As long as someone stayed behind to feed the insects, they could get farther away.
As long as they found a burrow to hide in, they might still survive.
