In the silent vacuum of space, where sound could not travel, Xuan Haicheng let out a quiet sigh inside the Space Station that dutifully seemed to spin forever. He looked at the several corpses floating in the cabin and silently saluted.
Red flags were affixed to the control panel not far away. Every button had been pressed, as if they testified to the despair that had once filled the station.
The removed spacesuits floated inside the cramped Space Station. At the ruptured pressure points, tiny droplets of water spun and drifted through the air.
It was clear that before their deaths, these people had tried to cut open their spacesuits to obtain water from inside.
"They're all pitiful people."
Looking at the Dried Corpses before him, Xuan Haicheng, who looked like a mass of plasma, tried to grab and hold their bodies together so that these poor people could rest in peace. Unfortunately, his hand was like air, passing through the corpses without the slightest resistance.
"Deng Xiang!? Can you connect to the mechanical arm?"
"These people are just floating here. It's too miserable. They're our people, at least."
"Find a way to control something. I can't do anything."
Shouting at the monitoring panel, Xuan Haicheng helplessly glanced at his own hand. He still was not used to his current state.
The Dried Corpses floating before him were all astronauts from the Space Station. They came from various countries, but most of them were from Hua Country.
After all, this was Hua Country's Space Station.
The corpses were thin and severely dehydrated. Two of them seemed to have been astronauts from Soviet Russia. Their sturdy bodies had been reduced to mere bundles of dried stalks.
It was hard to imagine just how desperate these people, "forgotten" in space,
