Hotel Second Floor
Lin An shook the bloodstains from his hands, somewhat disappointed.
He had searched all the way down from the ninth floor, yet he had not even caught a glimpse of the Bloody Witch.
Instead, more and more Survivors had gathered behind him. There were now twenty-seven of them.
Most of the Survivors were couples. After all, single people would not normally come to a place like this for no reason.

The first floor was the lobby, facing the hospital entrance across a single road.

The bald man was also exceptionally muscular. He tore off his tattered shirt in one motion.
His gleaming muscles reflected the sunlight, and his waist was nearly more than twice as thick as an ordinary person's.

With an angry roar, the bald man stopped dodging.

A flicker of delight flashed through the Black Bear's eyes.

The two had been brothers for many years, as close as blood brothers.
Seeing the Licker's claws swing again, he pulled a pistol from his clothes with a crazed expression.
"Come on, beast! Your grandpa's right here!"

Flames burst from the muzzle as bullets poured out like water.
However.
It was completely useless.
The Licker's powerful muscle tissue easily blocked the bullets.
The yellow-orange casings embedded in its body were squeezed out by its writhing muscles within moments.
As though enraged.
The Licker abandoned the claw reaching for the Black Bear and instead appeared before the burly man in an instant at an absurd speed.
One claw swept out.
The gun-wielding man was cut into three pieces, his wounds as smooth as though sliced by a laser.
On his severed head, his eyes remained wide open in fury.

The bald, bear-transformed man was overwhelmed by grief and rage.
"Beast, I'll make you die!!"
His Strength Burst reached its limit. The wounds he had desperately kept compressed split open, blood spraying everywhere.
He forced himself upright and launched a Charge at the Licker regardless of the cost.
On the Hotel Second Floor, everyone shrank behind Lin An in terror.
Director Wang's legs trembled violently, his entire body shaking.
When a monster from a movie appeared in reality, the overwhelming impact was enough to drive people to collapse.
The Licker's appearance alone was enough to make ordinary people lose any desire to resist.
"Clack, clack, clack."
Teeth chattered.
Several young men holding Fire Axes gripped them tightly.
When they had followed Lin An downstairs earlier, they had even boasted to the women beside them.
Watching Lin An kill Zombies as easily as crushing chicks, they had thought the Doomsday was nothing much.
But after truly seeing such a powerful monster, they only felt that their earlier thoughts had been utterly ridiculous.

They had just witnessed how powerful the bald man had become after Bear Transformation.
He possessed tremendous strength and could even clash head-on with the Licker.
He was simply inhuman.
That kind of strength was probably not much weaker than Lin An's.
Yet the bald man had nearly been instantly killed by the Licker right afterward. Naturally, Lin An could not possibly defeat it either.
Lin An stood by the window, unmoved.
His gaze burned with excitement.
He had thought that if he could not find the Bloody Witch, he would have to waste time looking for a Licker to kill.
He had not expected one to deliver itself to his door.
What pleased Lin An even more was that an Awakened had delivered himself right to his doorstep.
After watching the battle between the first Awakened and Mutant he had encountered since his rebirth, Lin An gained some insight as well.
His luck was fairly good.
The bald man was an Awakened.
But he was probably only Tier 0.
Maybe I can recruit him?
Seeing the bald man about to fall into a dying state, Lin An stopped watching.

The windowsill cracked. Lin An smashed straight through the wall of concrete and steel, exposing the rebar within.
Under everyone's terrified gazes, Lin An instantly appeared beneath the hotel at a speed too fast for the naked eye to follow.

Dust billowed into the air.
Lin An descended from the sky, crushing the asphalt beneath his feet.

Another little bug was challenging it.
With a sharp screech, the Licker threw away the half of Black Bear's arm it held.
Faster, faster—the Licker's massive body flattened the cars in its path as it charged madly toward Lin An.
Lin An gave a cruel smile, his steps growing faster and faster.
Clang!
The blade hummed violently, its tip aimed straight at the Licker's brow.
Strength Burst!
With a low shout, golden spiritual energy surged into Lin An's body, and his strength instantly skyrocketed.
His blood rushed through his veins, his heart pounding at high speed like an engine.
Come on!
