"W-well, since you're both so sincere, I suppose I could teach you a thing or two?"

He stroked his beard, in an absolutely wonderful mood. He might not have gotten much out of it, but he'd gained two disciples in one go.

"My days won't be boring anymore!"

"Then you two can come with me to Kame Island and train!"

Now that they'd cleared things up, there was no need to wait around. He had plenty of time to nurture these two little saplings into towering trees!

As soon as Master Roshi finished speaking, Bulma protested. She'd gone to all the trouble of finding two companions to join her on her adventure, and now, because of this sudden turn of events, was she supposed to go it alone again?

"Hey, you old geezer! Don't think you can steal them from me just because your Battle Power Index is high. Wuneng and Goku are still mine!"

Only now did Bulma realize the old man was trying to snatch them away from her! That wouldn't do. She hadn't collected all the Dragon Balls yet, and her Prince Charming hadn't shown up.

Son Gohan understood Bulma's anxiety. He'd already become Master Roshi's disciple, so there was no need to rush. Besides, Goku and he still had wishes of their own to fulfill, and they really did need to keep searching for the Dragon Balls.

"Please understand. We still need to find the Dragon Balls to make up for the regrets in our hearts. Otherwise, even if we trained with you, we wouldn't be able to do so wholeheartedly."

Compared to Bulma's blunt protest, Son Gohan's words were much more tactful.

Master Roshi's expression instantly turned serious.

"Looks like I really shouldn't underestimate you two! I have to say, Gohan laid a very solid foundation for you."

"To understand the importance of cultivating your minds at such a young age makes you worthy of being called proper Martial Arts apprentices!"

He walked over to Son Gohan and patted him on the shoulder encouragingly.

"Young man, stick to your principles. One day, you'll have the chance to climb this great mountain of Martial Arts all the way to its peak!"

"But for now, please step aside."

Master Roshi nudged Son Gohan out of the way and walked right past him.

"Yohoho! My dear young lady, do you want to take these two disciples of mine away?"

Behind his dark sunglasses, his eyes had turned into hearts.

Combined with his scrawny, withered frame, he looked exactly like a creepy old man about to abduct an innocent young girl.

And, of course, that was more or less what he was doing.

Son Gohan rolled his eyes helplessly. He'd known it would be like this. All that talk about him being a Martial Arts prodigy had just been an excuse.

In the end, the old man had still set his sights on Bulma.

"Looks like it's time to use my secret move!"

Son Gohan silently cheered himself on.

Master Roshi was doing his utmost to flirt with Bulma, but the Dragon Balls were what interested her most, and they were already in Son Gohan's hands.

And since Goku wasn't there to tug down Bulma's underwear this time, Master Roshi had no chance of getting a peek.

"Hey, Bulma, could you lend me your Hoi-Poi Capsules?"

Son Gohan walked over to Bulma, giving her a chance to escape Master Roshi's pestering. She looked a little puzzled about what he had in mind, but obediently handed them over.

After taking Bulma's Hoi-Poi Capsule case, Son Gohan picked out the No. 9 Capsule he'd used the day before and tossed it onto the ground.

"Bang!" A small house appeared on the beach again.

After returning the other capsule case to Bulma, Son Gohan put on a stern, serious expression and walked up to Master Roshi.

"Hey, Master Mutaito, shouldn't a Martial Artist stay true to his principles? How can you go around bothering girls?"

"Please recognize your mistake. Come inside. I want to have a serious talk with you about this!"

For a moment, Bulma was dazed. Son Gohan was about as tall as Master Roshi, but now he seemed so imposing to her!

"Please!"

Without giving Master Roshi a chance to refuse, Son Gohan opened the door and stood aside, gesturing for him to enter.

"Well, well, I'd like to see what you're up to!"

Master Roshi didn't seem bothered. He just liked taking advantage of people. Although he did have impure thoughts about girls and wanted to cop a feel, he'd always been tactful about it.

He'd never forced any girl to do anything. So if Bulma wasn't interested, then... then he'd just have to find the right opportunity the next time around!

Once Master Roshi went inside, Son Gohan turned and gave the others instructions.

"I'm going to have a serious discussion with Master Mutaito. You all stay outside."

"Ribut, guard the door. Don't let anyone come near! Not even Bulma!"

"Yes, big brother!"

Ribut admired Son Gohan so much for knocking him down that his words were as good as an imperial decree.

Curious, Bulma kept muttering about wanting to go in and take a look, but Ribut stopped her every time she tried.

Inside the Capsule House, Son Gohan sat opposite Master Roshi, and his demeanor had undergone a complete turnaround.

If the others outside could see him, they'd probably curse him as shameless.

He wore a beaming smile and stood bowing beside Master Roshi.

"Master, please have some tea!"

"Master, I brought you in because I wanted to give you a gift to celebrate becoming your disciple."

"There were so many people outside just now, bro—cough, cough, I mean, student apologizes to you!"

After speaking, he bowed deeply to apologize for his attitude earlier.

"Also, I've got some rare treasures here that I'd like you to take a look at. I'm still young, after all, and there are some things I just can't handle. I'll need an experienced hand like yours!"

Master Roshi didn't seem to care much about his apology. He wasn't the sort to get hung up on appearances; a grandmaster had his own dignity.

He did need to maintain his authority in front of a newly acquired disciple, but he couldn't scare the boy off right from the start. What if he ran away?

"What's the gift, anyway? Why all the secrecy? Is it something you're not supposed to have?"

To be honest, seeing the boy act so strangely had made him curious.

"Just a moment. I'll get it out now!"

After replying, Son Gohan had successfully whetted Master Roshi's appetite.

He walked over to the television, then with a click, opened Bulma's locked drawer and began rummaging through it.

Before long, he let out an excited "Found them!" and sneakily pulled out several magazines and discs.

They were filled with enticing pictures, enough to make anyone's blood boil.

"Master Mutaito, please take a look at these for me!"
