In the evening, having finished another day of life at the Ninja Academy, Sasuke walked slowly into the deserted Uchiha compound.
Just as he stepped through the main gate, Sasuke felt a gaze from the rooftop to the east. Following the line of sight, he saw a cat wearing blue clothes, a small scroll strapped to its back, pointed ears, fur like a raccoon, and the character "Ninja" written on its forehead.
"Young Master Sasuke!"
Seeing that Sasuke had spotted it, the cat actually spoke in human language. With a few light leaps, it moved nimbly through the air and appeared beside Sasuke, saying.
"Young Master Sasuke, the chakra weapon you commissioned is ready."
"Mm! Thank you for your trouble, Denka."
Sasuke nodded, took the scroll off the ninja cat's back, and handed over a bottle of matatabi drink.
The cat had barely taken the drink before it impatiently opened it and took a sniff, revealing an expression of pure bliss, much like a cat high on catnip.
The Ninken Clan served as the intelligence network for the Uchiha clan. These ninja cats, raised by Nekomata who specialized in crafting tools for cats, were particularly fond of matatabi drink.
They lived in a ruined city dozens of kilometers outside Konohagakure, a place known as the Empty District.
The two sides had been cooperating for decades; besides serving as the Uchiha's intelligence source, Nekomata and the Ninken Clan were also responsible for accepting commissions from the Uchiha to forge custom ninja tools and weapons.
The katana made entirely of chakra-conductive metal that Sasuke had wanted to purchase earlier was a commission he had placed with Nekomata through the ninja cats.
After all, given Sasuke's current status and strength, even if he had the money, it would be very difficult to obtain a chakra metal weapon in Konohagakure. Furthermore, there were very few people Sasuke could trust and feel at ease with, and Nekomata was one of the rare few.
However, even though he had entrusted the commission to Nekomata, chakra metal was not easy to come by, as it was a precious material. It had been over two months since the request, and only today did he finally receive the weapon.
Sasuke opened the storage scroll, and after a puff of smoke, a katana and a dagger-sized knife appeared in his hands.
The katana was entirely white, the blade gleaming. It was a tachi, with a blade length of about 80cm. The edge was extremely long, the body of the blade slender and thin, and a red and white braided cord was tied to the hilt.
"A fine blade!"
Sasuke examined it for a moment before sliding the katana into its scabbard and asking:
"Does this sword have a name?"
Hearing this, Denka reluctantly tore his gaze away from the matatabi drink and replied: "No, Young Master Sasuke. Nekomata said that since you are the owner of these two weapons, you can name them yourself, meow!"
"Very well."
Sasuke nodded and took out the other short dagger to examine it.
It is said that an inch longer is an inch stronger, while an inch shorter is an inch more dangerous.
He had previously considered his professional nature and combat style, knowing that he would inevitably face close-quarters combat in the future. In addition to the katana, he had commissioned Nekomata to forge a short blade.
Beyond its use in close-quarters fighting, the short blade could also be used in conjunction with his throwing techniques, serving as a kunai or shuriken.
Of course, after his previous conversation with Sakura, Sasuke now had other plans for this short blade.
"By the way, Denka, there is one more thing I would like to ask Nekomata to help me with."
"Young Master Sasuke, please speak, meow!"
"Could you trouble Nekomata to help me collect some Lightning Release..."
At this point, Sasuke hesitated for a moment before continuing: "I want all five elemental ninjutsu, no limit on the rank, though the higher the better, of course."
Although he now possessed the Uchiha-style Fire Release ninjutsu and the fire-style sword techniques of Uchiha Shisui, he was well aware that his original self had a very high talent for the lightning attribute. He could not simply let such a powerful talent go to waste. While his current focus would remain on the fire attribute, he intended for both to progress side-by-side in the future.
As for the other three elements, he only wanted them for reference and had no intention of practicing them for the time being.
"Does Young Master Sasuke want to collect ninjutsu scrolls for all five elements?"
Denka licked his paw, looking thoughtful for a moment: "I once heard Nekomata say that there are some scrolls regarding the five elements at home, but most of them are D-rank or C-rank. Anything above C-rank might be a bit difficult, meow!"
"That's fine, the basics will do."
Sasuke nodded and said in a deep voice.
"Alright!" Denka nodded his little head.
"Young Master Sasuke, if there is nothing else, I shall take my leave, meow!"
"Mm!"
As soon as the words fell, Denka transformed into a puff of smoke and vanished.
Sasuke practiced with his two new weapons for a while before continuing his daily routine of training.
The next day, Uchiha compound.
In the morning, after Sasuke finished breakfast and completed his usual physical training, he took the newly acquired dagger and headed toward the mountains behind Konohagakure.
Today was the weekend, so there was no school. Sasuke did not intend to spend the day in the grueling training he usually did; instead, he planned to begin a new phase of training.
Walking along the path in Konohagakure toward the mountains, he had grown noticeably taller compared to two months ago.
With a regular schedule and various high-nutrition meals, Two months of persistent physical training, combined with yoga stretches and flexibility exercises, had made his physique more slender and sturdier than that of his peers.
"That's Senior Sasuke, the genius from the grade above us at the Ninja Academy."
A chorus of chirping voices reached him. Sasuke followed the sound and saw two young girls, two or three years his junior, whispering to each other while glancing at him from time to time.
After Sasuke looked over, the two little girls didn't feel shy at all; instead, they waved their hands and began to whisper to each other behind their covered mouths, giggling.
"I suppose I'm a celebrity at the Ninja Academy now..."
In the week or so since school started, Sasuke had frequently encountered or overheard fellow students discussing him while at the academy. The boys naturally talked about his talent and strength, their tones filled with envy, jealousy, and resentment.
As for those bold little girls, Sasuke could tell at a glance that they were simply coveting his good looks.
Finding it amusing in his heart, Sasuke walked toward the foot of the mountain behind the village without realizing it. Just as he arrived, he sensed at least five or six gazes hidden in the shadows locked onto him.
Sasuke's expression remained unchanged, maintaining his calm demeanor as he slowly walked into the mountain forest, and those gazes vanished after trailing him for only a dozen seconds or so.
The mountain behind Konohagakure was still considered part of the village, and villagers and ninjas were not prohibited from entering; some ninjas even had their residences there, such as Might Guy and his father from the original story.
However, because the area was dense with forests and hills, offering strong concealment, it was patrolled day and night by several teams of Anbu ninjas to prevent unidentified individuals from sneaking in and to protect villagers from being attacked by wild beasts that might accidentally wander into the area.
