Lu Xueqi watched the clothes appear out of thin air, her eyes widening slightly.
She took them and unfolded them: a moon-white top and a pale cyan skirt. The fabric was as soft as clouds, shimmering with a faint luster in the morning light.
Her fingers traced the embroidery, the corners of her mouth curving upward. She then looked up at him, her gaze carrying a hint of something indescribable.
"Husband." Lu Xueqi's voice was softer than usual, carrying a deliberately suppressed tenderness. "Where did you get these women's clothes?"
Lu Jiuyuan leaned against the headboard, watching her.
The morning light shone from behind her, gilding her entire silhouette with a golden-white rim.
Her long hair was scattered over her shoulders. She hadn't put on the moon-white dress yet, remaining wrapped in the quilt, leaving a patch of snow-white shoulder exposed.
His gaze lingered on her shoulder for a moment before shifting away, the corners of his mouth slowly curling into a smile.
Lu Jiuyuan reached out with both hands to clasp her waist, pulling her from the quilt so she pressed against his chest.
His palms rested on her smooth back, sliding slowly down the curve of her spine, feeling the soft body tremble slightly in his arms.
Her skin was incredibly smooth, like fine mutton-fat jade, offering almost no resistance as his fingertips glided over it.
"Want to know?" Lu Jiuyuan's voice dropped low. He pressed his lips against her earlobe and blew a breath of hot air. "Do it one more time, and I'll tell you."
Lu Xueqi's body stiffened in his arms for a moment before she lifted her head from his chest and shot him a glare.
She raised her hand, her pink fist landing on his chest—once, twice—not hard, like a cat batting at someone.
"You're so wicked." Lu Xueqi's voice was muffled. "How are you never satisfied? It's already been so many times..."
Lu Jiuyuan caught her fist and kissed it.
Her fingers curled in his palm, but she didn't pull away.
He looked down at her, his gaze sliding from her flushed cheeks to her slightly pouting lips, then down to the collarbone exposed outside the quilt. The smile in his eyes deepened, carrying an undisguised, naked possessiveness.
"It's because you're too tempting, my treasure." Lu Xueqi's voice held a lazy, post-satiation huskiness, like a cat that had soaked up enough sun. "You make me unable to hold back."
Lu Xueqi's eyelashes fluttered, and the flush on her face spread from her earlobes to her neck.
She bit her pink lip, wanting to say something but swallowing it back, burying her face in his chest.
His heartbeat was right by her ear, steady and powerful. As she listened to that sound, the corners of her mouth slowly curved upward.
Lu Jiuyuan looked down at the person in his arms. Her face was buried in his chest, so he couldn't see her expression, but he could feel the curve of her lips pressing against his skin like a warm petal.
His fingers combed through her hair, gently stroking her scalp.
"What are you thinking about?" he asked.
Lu Xueqi lifted her head from his chest. In the morning light, her face was rosy and her eyes were bright, like two black pebbles soaked in a stream. She looked at him for several seconds before burying her face back into him.
"Thinking about how you're so wicked."
"And what else?"
"Also thinking..." Lu Xueqi paused, her voice so soft it was almost inaudible, "thinking about how I could ever like someone like you."
Lu Jiuyuan laughed and pulled her closer into his arms.
"Senior Brother."
"Hmm?"
"Turn around."
Lu Jiuyuan leaned against the headboard, watching her.
Her long hair was scattered over her shoulders and waist, and the quilt was wrapped up to her collarbone, revealing a patch of snow-white shoulder and a small portion of her back.
That patch of skin shimmered with a lustrous glow in the morning light, the outline of her shoulder blades faintly visible.
His gaze lingered on that skin for a moment, the corners of his mouth slowly curving into a smile.
"Why should I turn around?" Lu Jiuyuan's voice was lazy and amused. "I saw everything there was to see last night, and touched everything too. What are you shy about now?"
Lu Xueqi's face turned bright red.
Starting from her earlobes, the heat burned all the way to her neck, turning as red as the sunset clouds behind Xiaozhu Peak.
Lu Xueqi's fingers gripped the quilt tightly, her heavy, soft breasts trembling slightly. Her eyes, shimmering with moisture, glared at him, both shy and annoyed.
"It's just because I'm afraid you won't be able to help yourself and will come to bully me again!"
Lu Xueqi's voice rose, the tail end trembling slightly with an indescribable, coquettish tone.
After saying this, she froze, her face turning even redder. She turned her head away to avoid looking at him, leaving only a glowing red earlobe facing his direction.
Lu Jiuyuan looked at her crimson earlobe, her slightly pouting lips, and the way she was curled into a ball wrapped in the quilt, and chuckled.
The laughter was soft, but it was exceptionally clear in the quiet room.
He reached out, his fingers passing through her scattered hair to gently stroke the back of her neck.
Her body trembled slightly, but she didn't pull away.
"Don't worry." Lu Jiuyuan's voice was filled with laughter, low and soft, as if coaxing a ruffled kitten. "I promise, I absolutely won't mess around."
Lu Xueqi turned her head to the side, glancing at him from the corner of her eye.
His expression was earnest, his eyes clear, and a gentle smile played at the corners of his mouth—a stark contrast to the man who had pinned her to the bed last night.
She stared at him for several seconds, as if confirming whether he was lying.
Then, she loosened her grip on the quilt.
Her movements were very slow, so slow it was as if she were testing the waters.
The quilt slid from her shoulders, revealing her collarbone, her chest, and her waist.
The morning light fell upon her, making that expanse of snow-white skin appear almost translucent.
She kept her head lowered, not daring to meet his eyes, her fingers trembling slightly as she picked up the moon-white dress from the edge of the bed.
She put on her undergarment first.
The moon-white undergarment was made of soft fabric with thin straps that tied into a bow at her shoulders.
Her fingers were not obeying her, and it took several tries to tie it; the resulting bow was crooked and not very pretty.
Next came the middle layer, also moon-white, with faint orchid patterns embroidered on the collar.
She slipped her arms into the sleeves and tied the side ribbons, her movements very slow, as if she were deliberately dragging out the time. Finally, she put on the outer skirt, pale cyan, which draped from her waist down to her ankles.
She stood up, pulled the skirt to her waist, and tied the sash.
Throughout the entire process, Lu Jiuyuan kept watching.
His gaze slid from her shoulders to her waist, and from her waist to the sliver of ankle exposed beneath the hem of her skirt, a smile remaining on his lips the entire time.
He did not make a move, nor did he make a sound; he simply watched quietly, like someone admiring a painting.
Lu Xueqi could feel his gaze, which landed on her skin like a stream of warm water poured from the top of her head to the soles of her feet.
Her face remained flushed, from the moment she started dressing until she finished, the redness never fading.
"It's done." Lu Xueqi lowered her head, smoothing out her cuffs. "You can look now."
"I've been looking the whole time." Lu Jiuyuan's voice carried a hint of amusement.
Lu Xueqi's fingers paused, and she looked up to glare at him.
Lu Jiuyuan looked at her, holding her gaze for several seconds.
"Beautiful."
