"Hello, Marshal Andre!" As David approached the planet where the Eternal Life Research Institute was located and entered Skynet's range, he received a contact request from Marshal Andre. Hidden in the sky, he answered through his Identity Bracelet and greeted him.
"General David, I've been waiting for you to return to duty at Federal High Command. The ten days will be up soon!" Marshal Andre's first words were a reminder to David.
David had naturally been keeping track of the time. Once he dealt with the Eternal Life Research Institute, he would have just enough time to hurry to Origin Planet.
As for how long he might be delayed at the Eternal Life Research Institute, he had never considered it.
Now that he knew the location of the Eternal Life Research Institute's headquarters, its destruction was only a matter of time.
"Please rest assured, I'll report in on time!" David immediately replied loudly.
The planet housing the Eternal Life Research Institute was very close to the space Portal. It would only take a few hours to reach it, presumably to facilitate the Institute's transport of supplies.
David's first impression upon returning to the Interstellar Federation was how inconvenient long-distance travel was here.
Although the Interstellar Federation had enormous space Portals, even larger than the planet-level Portals of God's Great World, there were far too few of them.
There was almost only one space Portal in each star region. The space Portals merely connected star regions separated by vast distances; travel within a star region still required spaceflight.
In contrast, nearly every important planet in God's Great World had a planet-level Portal. Some nobles even possessed Portals of various grades as supplements to planet-level Portals. Thus, although God's Great World was just as unimaginably vast as the Interstellar Federation, travel there
