"I'll go out and negotiate with them. Send a warning to the Hopkinson Family and ask them to intervene!" The McNair Family Patriarch looked at the War God Temple clergy and priests surrounding the castle, despair filling his heart. Yet he still had to remain composed. The McNair Family needed his calm, and so he gave the order.
"Patriarch, you can't go out! Those clergy clearly mean us harm!" a Level 4 knight of the family urged.
"Enough. This is an order. I'll buy us time!" The McNair Family Patriarch waved his hand.
As one of the McNair Family's three Level 4 Sky Knights, the Patriarch did not leave through the main gate. Instead, he vaulted down from the castle platform.
The situation had reached an extremely critical point. He did not dare open the gates, as that would give the War God Temple an opening.
The McNair Family Patriarch stopped ten meters away from the leading clergyman. The man opposite him was a Level 5 Temple Knight, watching the Patriarch coldly, his eyes brimming with killing intent.
The McNair Family Patriarch noticed the small emblem on the Level 5 Temple Knight's shoulder. His gaze sharpened, and his pupils involuntarily contracted.
It was the mark of the Guardian Clergy. The Guardian Clergy was the most terrifying organization within the temple, tasked with punishing traitors and blasphemers in the name of their god.
"May I ask why the War God Temple has surrounded my castle? My McNair Family has never committed any crime. Even if we had, the matter should be handled by the Noble Affairs Office and the Supreme Council!" The McNair Family Patriarch suppressed the shock in his heart and spoke in a deep voice.
"I, Temple Knight Leon, have been ordered by the Archbishop to arrest the
