By the time David got home, it was already four in the afternoon. He toyed with the small Mimicry Monitor in his hand, weighing how he should deal with the situation.

He could simply hand the video footage over to the police, or send it to Gallen. Either way, Mr. Steer and Trainer Jeremy would be finished.

But what David needed right now was time to lie low. His strength was improving rapidly, and as long as he was given time, with the Shadow Servant's help and his plentiful Credit Points and resources, he believed he could become an Armored Warrior as quickly as possible.

Once he became an Armored Warrior, he would be able to protect himself.

Of course, he had another option: take matters into his own hands and kill Mr. Steer.

At the thought, a murderous glint flashed in David's eyes.

David was no longer the person who had first arrived in this world, nor was he the easily deceived person he had been in his previous life. After fusing with Knowledge Light Orbs from numerous battles, his mind had endured thousands of perilous fights.

In the Illusions, he had been injured nearly a hundred times and had come close to death more than a dozen times. The Zerg and Armored Warriors he had killed were beyond counting.

David brought up Mr. Steer's recent schedule again, searching for such an opportunity.

Though his Sniping was only at the 20% Proficient level, he had learned in the Illusions why Sniper Armored Warriors were considered a special class among Armored Warriors: their attack power was the most terrifying of all.

Once a Sniper Armored Warrior had enough distance, they became an enemy's nightmare.

Of course, if an enemy got close, that would become the Sniper Armored Warrior's nightmare.

Although David wasn't a Sniper Armored Warrior and couldn't get his hands on a dedicated Sniper Rifle, he knew of a place where there were sniper weapons just as powerful as, or even more powerful than, the rifles used by Sniper Armored Warriors.

They were the city-defense weapons mounted on Peilan City's walls. To protect the city, the authorities had installed an array of powerful weapons along its walls.

There were Heavy Laser Cannons, Anti-Aircraft Rapid-Fire Cannons, Gauss Cannons, and Energy Shields, as well as a relatively conventional weapon: the Long-Range Sniper Cannon.

Most people with Sniping Talent who couldn't become Armored Warriors chose to operate Long-Range Sniper Cannons.

The other city-defense weapons almost obliterated any Level 1 Zerg they hit, leaving little profit to be made from the remains.

The Long-Range Sniper Cannon was different. It used penetration to attack, concentrating its damage without causing too much harm to the Zerg's corpse.

Each time a Long-Range Sniper Cannon struck an individual Zerg target, it earned the city a profit. Specialists also retrieved the Level 1 ammunition with professional scanning equipment, making the Long-Range Sniper Cannon the most frequently used city-defense weapon.

Without the Sound Isolation Devices on the outskirts of the city, the Long-Range Sniper Cannon's report would have been heard by more than half the population.

The first thing David thought of was the Long-Range Sniper Cannon. Of course, he would never use his Electronic Warfare skills to attack the city-defense system.

Even if he set aside the fact that getting caught would almost certainly mean a death sentence, tampering with the system could be disastrous. If the city-defense weapons became unusable, even briefly, the consequences could be catastrophic.

Besides, despite his Electronic Warfare ability being as high as 98% Expert, he was still powerless against such a sophisticated military defense system.

They weren't even in the same league. The Military used the most advanced equipment, much of it beyond the reach of civilian technology, and possessed numerous technologies exclusive to the armed forces.

Thinking he could challenge the Military's defense system with nothing but a Medium Server would be sheer folly.

If he triggered a response from the Military's professional Electronic Warfare Specialists, he would have nowhere to hide.

David planned to operate the Long-Range Sniper Cannon directly, by physical means. He only needed to reach the city wall—or even stay off it—and get within ten meters of the Light Brain controlling the cannon. Then he could have the Shadow Servant operate it.

A daring plan took shape in his mind, and he began searching for relevant information everywhere he could.

After finishing his practice of the Eighteen Forms of Body Technique that evening, he didn't go straight to bed. Instead, he went to the computer room.

He put on his Virtual Helmet and entered the virtual world, then started manipulating the data again.

He filled the virtual world with the information he had found. Before long, a stretch of city wall appeared, twenty meters high.

Four point six kilometers from the wall, a massive building appeared.

Anyone who saw the building would recognize it as Steer Hotel.

David had copied the hotel's design directly from its secure server and rebuilt it in the virtual world.

At the very top of Steer Hotel was Mr. Steer's vast, luxurious office. This meant there were no buildings obstructing the line between the city wall and Mr. Steer's office.

There were few high-rises in Peilan City, and Steer Hotel was one of the tallest.

Next, he pulled up the weather data. At a distance of 4.6 kilometers, he needed good weather to make a precise shot.

David fed the forecasts for the next few days into the Medium Server, along with the official Satellite Cloud Flow Map.

In the virtual world, he calculated the weather conditions for each of the next three days, including temperature, humidity, wind speed, and other factors.

He then used the scenario to practice the trajectory calculations and analysis he had been working on. The distance was greater, but the calculations were the same.

He didn't leave the virtual world until his Identity Bracelet alerted him again.

The alert came because it was time for him to fuse another Knowledge Light Orb. Twenty-four hours had passed since the last fusion.

Although only two unfused Knowledge Light Orbs remained, David didn't want to waste a single moment.

The two Knowledge Light Orbs left in the Shadow Servant's body were Long Sword Mastery (80% Expert) and Spear Mastery (99% Expert).
