"Holy crap, the top-ranked big shot's handing out freebies! I snagged a Windproof Lighter for free." Just then, as soon as Su Yu's trade listing appeared on the Trading Channel, the first Survivor to claim one immediately shouted in the Communication Channel.
"Damn, I missed my chance to get something for free! You bastards are way too quick. Couldn't you have left one for me? I'm practically freezing to death here."
"Were you all born with the reflexes of twenty-year-old virgins? I'd barely seen the listing before it was gone."
With Su Yu's free Windproof Lighters up for grabs, the guys in the Communication Channel immediately started complaining.
After listing a few lighters, Su Yu couldn't be bothered to keep an eye on the Communication Channel. There was basically nothing useful in there.
Meanwhile, the few people ranked just below Su Yu on the regional island Prosperity leaderboard looked at his Prosperity Value, then at their own, and were left speechless.
"What the hell, are we even playing the same survival game? This guy's got way too many supplies!"
At that moment, a new name had quietly crept into the top ten. It was none other than Wang Teng, who had traded with Su Yu that afternoon.
Using the thirty portions of Common Bait he'd made from Common Energy Crystals, Wang Teng had caught quite a lot.
As a result, the Prosperity Value of Wang Teng's island had shot past most Survivors' and broken into the top ten.
But this left the Survivor he'd bumped out of tenth place thoroughly miserable. There was a huge difference between being in the top ten and falling below it!
The top ten got extra treasure chests every day!
"Damn it." The poor guy who'd been pushed down could only let out a frustrated shout on his island.
Meanwhile, Su Yu was frying a steak over the fire in his Frying Pan. It was one of the things he'd caught while fishing that afternoon.
The moment he smelled the savory aroma of meat wafting through the air, Su Yu couldn't help swallowing. He'd eaten a bowl of Instant Noodles at noon and kept working until nightfall, so by now he was ravenous.
When the steak in the pan was about seventy percent done, Su Yu dug right in.
He didn't leave the two Low-level Goblins hungry, either. He tossed them some Kang Shuaifu Instant Noodles, which sent them into a frenzy of excitement.
Only after polishing off three steaks and eating half a Watermelon did Su Yu let out a loud burp.
"You two are on watch beside this bonfire tonight. Add some wood whenever it's about to go out, and keep an eye on the sea. See if anything unusual happens out there."
Now that he'd eaten his fill, Su Yu gave the two Low-level Goblins their orders.
"This servant obeys." The two Goblins hurriedly replied in respectful voices.
"Mm." Su Yu nodded, then opened the Toyota's door and climbed inside. He started the engine, turned on the air conditioning, adjusted the seat, and lay back to rest.
The car couldn't be driven around on an island this tiny, but there was no problem using its air conditioning. As long as the Gasoline didn't run out, he'd have heat.
Su Yu had assigned the two Goblins to keep watch because, if the temperature was dropping at night, other things might happen, too. Better safe than sorry.
Besides, those two Goblins had plenty of energy. Staying awake for a day or two wouldn't be a problem, so they might as well keep watch.
The two Goblins gathered beside the bonfire to keep warm, their eyes fixed on their surroundings as they carried out Su Yu's orders to the letter.
As time passed, the night quietly gave way to dawn.
By the time Su Yu opened his eyes, the sky outside the car was already bright.
He got up, stretched, and turned off the air conditioning before opening the car door and stepping outside.
"Phew." Facing the sun newly risen in the sky, Su Yu drew in a deep breath and slowly let it out.
"Master, you're awake." The two Goblins, who were still keeping watch by the bonfire, hurried over the moment they saw Su Yu get out of the car.
"Was there anything unusual last night?" Su Yu glanced at them and asked casually.
"Reporting to Master, all we heard last night was the sound of waves beating against the edge of the island. Nothing else out of the ordinary happened." At Su Yu's question, the two Goblins promptly answered.
"Good. Nice work. Now go into the Wooden Cabin and bring me something to eat." Su Yu picked up his Fishing Rod and headed for the edge of the island, giving the Goblins their orders as he went.
He had way too much Common Bait on hand now. He needed to use it up quickly.
Before long, Su Yu was fishing contentedly, holding his Fishing Rod in one hand and munching on bread with the other.

As Su Yu fished, another notification chimed in his ear, telling him to claim today's bait.
"Claim." Su Yu didn't look the least bit excited at the notification. He had way too much of this stuff already. If it were upgraded bait, he'd probably be thrilled, but for now, that was just wishful thinking.
Maybe the top-ranked Survivor would get a reward like that later on, but there was no point expecting it in the first day or two.
Su Yu glanced at the float on the water, which was still motionless, then turned his attention back to the Communication Channel.
He might not like posting in there, but that didn't mean he couldn't lurk!
"Holy crap... I... froze... to... death... last... night..."
"Damn, brother, what happened to you? You're stuttering just from typing. It was cold last night, sure, but keeping a fire going all night or having other cold-weather supplies should've been enough, right?"
"Easy for you to say, you bastard. Did you even think about those of us with no cold-weather supplies at all, who had to tough it out all night with nothing but our righteous spirit?"
"Impressive. I hereby declare you the strongest."
"Don't even get me started. All I ate yesterday was a Wheat Bread and half a bottle of water. When I went to bed, I was cold and hungry. Half-asleep, I swear I saw the little girl selling matches."
"You sure it wasn't the little girl selling nukes?"
"Huh, why are you guys going hungry? Aren't the treasure chests you fish up full of supplies? Yesterday, I got a cooked Roasted Lamb Leg, a Roasted Chicken, and a few bottles of Sprite from the treasure chests I caught."
"You bastard. I can't believe you managed to type something so cold with hands at body temperature."
"Eating peach peach, so cool cool."
"Ugh."
