The true best strategy for clearing this Defense Challenge was not to confront the Dark Orcs head-on in a desperate battle, but to delay for as long as possible!
The countdown in the sky did not only restrict the Lords' side; it also restricted the attacking Dark Orcs.
Yet the results of time passing were completely different for the two sides.
For every minute the countdown decreased, Zong Shen gained another minute of advantage. Conversely, the Dark Orcs gained another minute of disadvantage. If they failed to breach Zong Shen's territory within the limited time, everything would come to nothing.
So Zong Shen could not have wished for anything more than the Dark Orcs' cautious probing!
All he needed to do was stall for as long as possible while learning the attack characteristics of these Dark Orc warriors.
He would whittle down their living forces as much as he could. Once more time had passed, those guys would surely throw everything on the line and launch a full-scale attack. That would be the true decisive battle.
These Dark Orc vanguard troops were merely an appetizer.
For Zong Shen's side, they were perfect as a warm-up. The three Dark Orc clans did not care about such minor losses either. Still, with the [Crimson Gold Barrier] shield blocking their view, they could not obtain any useful information.
But once the vanguard was completely wiped out, Zong Shen would have to face the first wave of frontal assault.
