Background / History

The Lingjian Sect destroyed the Jinding Sect in the past and seized its inheritance, including the Jinding Technique. Its Great Elder killed the Jinding Sect's leader; Yang Wenhuai survived as a remnant of the defeated sect. 36 118

After the Jinding Sect's fall, the Lingjian Sect pursued surviving disciples under a policy of eliminating threats at the root. This history later made Liu Chu—who cultivated Jinding True Qi—a target for assassination. 104 114

For years, the sect's strongest known figure was its Great Elder, a Marrow Cleansing Realm swordsman who had reached the second stage of Sword Momentum. However, he had been missing for ten years by the time of the sect's conflict with Liu Chu. 118 119

Leadership and known members

• Lingjian Sect Leader — The sect's strongest active member after the Great Elder's disappearance. He had perfected the sect's sword arts and cultivated the Jinding Body to major accomplishment; Liu Chu killed him during the fall of Lingjian Sect. 118 138 139
• Great Elder — A Marrow Cleansing Realm expert with second-stage Sword Momentum. He killed the former Jinding Sect leader but later vanished. 118

Conflict with Liu Chu

The sect first learned of Liu Chu through Master Fakong, who identified the Jinding True Qi Liu Chu used as Black Dragon Gang Leader. The sect leader immediately judged him to be a surviving Jinding Sect remnant and resolved to have him killed before he could mature. 104

The Second Elder subsequently intercepted Liu Chu on the road from the Changyang Ye Family to Zhaojiang City. Supported by three Organ Refining Realm elders, he attempted to force Liu Chu to reveal the source of the Jinding Technique and join Lingjian Sect. Liu Chu instead killed the entire group. 114 115 117

After this defeat, the sect leader sought outside aid. He planned to trade the Jinding Technique and fragments of the Red Dust Breaking Precepts Blade to the Mad Blade Sect in exchange for the Mad Blade Sect Leader's intervention. 119

When Liu Chu finally stormed Lingjian Sect, Nalan Yue had returned with Wen Qi, an Organ Cleansing Realm swordsman from Baiyue Kingdom. Both were killed in the ensuing confrontation. 132 134 135

The sect leader arrived with the Mad Blade Sect Leader and exploited Liu Chu's third clash with that Marrow Cleansing Realm expert to launch an ambush. Liu Chu answered by activating the second layer of the Blood Fiend Heavenly Demon Art, breaking the encirclement, grievously injuring the sect leader, and killing the attacking elders. 136 137 138 139

With the sect's core experts dead, the sect leader ordered its remaining disciples and stewards to flee. The Mad Blade Sect Leader blocked his escape, forcing him into a final battle with Liu Chu, who killed him with a single blade strike. 139

Aftermath

Liu Chu cleared much of the remaining Lingjian Sect personnel and entered its Scripture Pavilion, recovering four Neizhuang Realm techniques and the incomplete Red Dust Breaking Precepts Blade. 140

The sect's wealth, techniques, and even building materials were transferred toward rebuilding the Jinding Sect at its former site. Yang Wenhuai regarded materials originally taken from Jinding Sect as being returned to their rightful owner. 141
