Background

Cao Ying is the treasured daughter of the Cao Clan and a prodigy whose unusually powerful soul talent manifested at birth. Xuankongzi regarded her as a natural-born alchemist and introduced her to Su Baichen after she insisted on studying under him. At the time, she was known as Danta’s “Demoness” and was considered one of the foremost alchemy talents of her generation. 2

With a prompt from Xuankongzi, Cao Ying immediately knelt before Su Baichen and formally addressed him as her master. Her quick decision and stubborn sincerity secured the apprenticeship, after which Su Baichen gave her Foundation Establishment Spirit Liquid as her first gift. 3

Her early cultivation was marked by dependence on Su Baichen’s resources and guidance. After being confronted with this weakness, Cao Ying chose to become more self-reliant and trained in the Magical Beast Mountain Range, where she steadily refined beast fires to strengthen herself. 84
