Background / History

Utrade ruled Hell from Wukun City, an ancient gray-stone city built on the floor of the Chaos Sea. He regarded the Four Divine Beasts and their descendants as valuable research materials rather than allies, seeking to study their bloodlines and combined innate abilities to perfect his own techniques. He preferred preserving living specimens, as their essence blood could be extracted repeatedly over long periods. 29 37

When the original Four Divine Beasts risked provoking Hope, Utrade warned them against escalating the conflict—not out of concern for their survival, but because their deaths would disrupt his research plans. After their fall, he attempted to trade for their essence blood, but Hope initially refused. 29 37

Utrade later negotiated a ten-trillion-year truce for the Four Divine Beasts Clan, giving Hope a magic-array blueprint in exchange for ending attacks on the clan. His underlying purpose remained access to the clan’s Highgods for experimentation; after the truce, he periodically took clan members to continue refining his ultimate technique. 46 82

Eventually, Utrade traded the principles of Space-Time Disorder to Hope for sixty drops of essence blood from each of the fallen Four Divine Beasts. He required Hope to swear not to use that blood for the technique or reveal its principles to others. 107

Appearance

Utrade usually concealed his appearance beneath black robes, with only a hoarse voice and an oppressive aura distinguishing his projected or physical form. 29 37

  • His Wukun true form is a colossal black-scaled Super Divine Beast with countless claws. 145
  • Its forehead bears two eyes, one red and one white, associated with destruction. 145
  • His true form can reach roughly ten thousand miles in size. 146
  • He wields black Sovereign Power of Destruction and often manifests as gray or black energy before taking humanoid form. 29 46

Personality

Utrade was direct, calculating, and intensely focused on gaining strength. He had little interest in favors, political sentiment, or the welfare of lesser beings; even his protection of the Four Divine Beasts Clan was transactional and motivated by the value of their bloodline. 42 46 87

For countless years, Oufu was the only Sovereign Utrade considered a true rival. His repeated defeats did not lessen that fixation, and he continuously pursued techniques, Plane War victories, and Supreme God missions in an effort to surpass him. 96 121

The Sovereign of Death’s rise to Paragon status and acquisition of additional Willpower created a new sense of urgency. Utrade began preparing on two fronts: further developing his ultimate technique and securing ten consecutive Plane War victories for Hell. 121 131

Abilities & Skills

Wukun Physiology

As Hell’s first lifeform and a Wukun Super Divine Beast, Utrade possessed exceptional physical power, material defense, and speed among Sovereigns. 144 146

  • His close-range strikes could contend directly with Sovereign-level opponents. 144
  • He was highly confident in his body’s innate strength, considering it superior to that of ordinary Sovereigns. 144
  • His most powerful technique consumed Wukun essence blood; after using it, his body and innate ability were drastically weakened. 131 145

Soul Prison

Utrade’s innate divine ability manifested as the phantom of an immense Wukun and attacked or restrained the target’s soul. 145

  • Used against Hope before attempting decisive close-range attacks. 145
  • Used again while fleeing after Space-Time World Destruction injured him. 146
  • Hope’s Soul Defense Supreme Artifact allowed him to break free quickly. 146

Space-Time Disorder

A research-derived ultimate technique based partly on the principles of the Four Divine Beasts’ bloodline fusion. 32 107

  • Its principles were valuable enough for Hope to exchange sixty drops of each Four Divine Beasts Sovereign’s essence blood. 107
  • Oufu incorporated its principles into improving Transcending Reincarnation. 32
  • Utrade prohibited Hope from using Four Divine Beasts essence blood to directly perform the technique. 107

World Destruction and Space-Time World Destruction

World Destruction was Utrade’s original ultimate technique; he later fused it with Space-Time Disorder to create Space-Time World Destruction. 121 131

  • The fused technique exceeded the original in material attack power. 131
  • It required more than half of Utrade’s essence blood in a single use. 131
  • Its aftermath reduced his strength severely, leaving him vulnerable after the clash with Hope. 145 146
  • Hope’s Fusion Sword Intent matched it in direct collision. 146

Magic Array and Bloodline Research

Utrade was an accomplished researcher of magic arrays, divine-beast bloodlines, and ultimate techniques. 32 46

  • Studied the Four Divine Beasts’ coordinated magic arrays and innate divine abilities. 32
  • Possessed a magic-array blueprint similar to the Four Divine Beasts’ joint formation. 46
  • Used Four Divine Beasts Clan Highgods as experimental subjects while refining his techniques. 82

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Supreme God Token of Life — Consisted of the green paper and Nine Spirit Orbs needed for the Supreme God of Life mission; Utrade possessed it before Hope reclaimed it. 137 144 146
  • Magic-array blueprint — A discarded but valuable research blueprint traded to Hope for the Four Divine Beasts Clan’s temporary protection. 46

Relationships

  • Hope — Research partner, political adversary, and eventual killer. Utrade traded technique principles for Four Divine Beasts essence blood, then later hunted Hope for Supreme God tokens. 107 137 146
  • Xingyi — Star Sovereign subordinate and trusted agent. Xingyi reported developments, recruited experts, and searched for items connected to Utrade’s plans. 29 131 137
  • Four Divine Beasts Clan — A protected resource pool for Utrade’s bloodline research. He arranged a truce to prevent the clan’s destruction, then continued taking Highgods for experiments. 42 46 82
  • Reding, Lius, Bowen, and Gaislesen — The original Four Divine Beasts whose essence blood and bloodline abilities formed the basis of much of Utrade’s research. 29 32 37
  • Thanatos — Her rise to Paragon status and later increase in Willpower made Utrade feel threatened and pushed him to seek further power. 96 121 131
  • Morton — Earth-style Paragon recruited as Utrade’s envoy for Hell’s planned Plane War victory streak. 131 132
  • Dannington — Death-attribute Paragon under Utrade’s command and a key part of his plan to secure ten consecutive Plane War wins. 121 131

Story Role / Major Arcs

Four Divine Beasts Bloodline Research

Utrade monitored the conflict between the Four Divine Beasts and Hope because their survival mattered to his research. Their eventual deaths placed their essence blood beyond his immediate control, prompting repeated attempts to negotiate with Hope. 29 37

Truce for the Four Divine Beasts Clan

To preserve further research subjects, Utrade exchanged a magic-array blueprint for ten trillion years of peace for the Four Divine Beasts Clan. The agreement halted Hope’s side from attacking the Tianji Mountain Range. 46

Trade and Rivalry with Oufu

Utrade secured essence blood from Hope by revealing the principles of Space-Time Disorder. He then challenged Oufu in the Spatial Turbulence, but Oufu defeated him despite Utrade’s years of preparation. 107 108

Hell’s Plane War Preparations

Threatened by Thanatos’ growth, Utrade recruited powerful fighters, developed a stronger ultimate technique, and enlisted the newly ascended Earth-style Paragon Morton. His strategy centered on bringing Hell from eight wins to a ten-win Plane War streak. 121 131 132

Supreme God Mission and Death

After learning that Hope possessed two Supreme God tokens, Utrade chose to seize them rather than negotiate. Following Hell’s failure in the Plane War, he confronted Hope in the Spatial Turbulence; their ultimate techniques collided, but Utrade’s blood-costly trump card left him badly weakened. Unable to escape Hope, he self-destructed, losing both the Destruction Spear and the Supreme God Token of Life. 137 143 144 146

Trivia

  • Utrade considered the Four Divine Beasts “private property” because living specimens could yield renewable essence blood. 37
  • He regarded favors as worthless bargaining material. 87
  • His defeat by Hope ended the life of Hell’s first-born Super Divine Beast and one of the four Rule Sovereigns. 146
