Background

Yinye was created when Bai Lan's Contract Space caused the fusion of two Void-attribute Contract Beasts: Yinxing, the 100,000-year Void Butterfly Empress, and Youye, the 300,000-year Void Shadow Lord. The fusion produced an independent 400,000-year Void Shadow Empress who retained both predecessors' memories and emotions while developing her own identity. Bai Lan named her “Yinye,” combining the names Yinxing and Youye. 35

Initially unsettled by being one person with the memories of two, Yinye asked for time to adapt to her new existence. Bai Lan accepted her as an individual while recognizing that Yinxing and Youye remained part of her. 35

Following her fusion, Yinye became Bai Lan's second Contract Beast and a key member of his growing group. Her fusion also reopened a Contract Book slot, allowing Bai Lan to seek a new Contract Beast. 36
