Background / History

Dugu Yan belongs to a family whose inherited serpent martial soul produces dangerous poison backlash. Her parents died early, and Dugu Bo continued enduring his own deteriorating condition to look after her. Her poison had not yet penetrated as deeply as his, leaving greater room for treatment 5.

She grew up alongside Chen Jieqi, whom Dugu Bo had taken in. Whenever she was away from the academy, she returned to tease her little brother.
