"Oh, you mean the Abomination?"
Hearing Nick Fury's words, Fang Mo instantly recalled the Hulk's storyline: "That soldier named Blonsky, right? After witnessing the Hulk's power, he suddenly didn't want to be human anymore..."
"You know quite a lot."
Nick Fury gave Fang Mo a deep look. As someone with many secrets, he really didn't like dealing with a guy who seemed to know everything.
He had this nagging feeling that the other party even knew he was secretly studying the Tesseract.
"I don't think the military can handle that monster."
And as if to confirm Nick Fury's suspicion, Fang Mo soon spoke up again: "Your equipment here is way more advanced than the military's. You sure you don't plan to clean up their mess?"
"...The military is currently drafting a plan."
Nick Fury glanced at Fang Mo without a word: "Their initial idea is to release the Hulk and let him fight the new monster—the one you call the Abomination. But honestly, I don't trust those idiots in the military one bit."
"So if the military fails, can I make a move?"
Fang Mo asked with a smile: "You're not ready to use those energy weapons yet, are you?"
"So you do know about that!"
Nick Fury's gaze instantly sharpened. Other things could be overlooked, but the Tesseract was far too important to him: "Who are you, really? What's your goal?"
"I told you, I'm just a Stand User."
Fang Mo rolled his eyes: "If I actually had any designs on the Space Stone, I'd have dug my way over there ages ago, alright? Why would I wait until now?"
Fang Mo wasn't joking about that. He didn't know the exact coordinates of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s base, but don't forget—he had the MiniMap Mod. That thing came with a cave radar. Nick Fury had built a massive underground lab for the Tesseract. If Fang Mo ever passed nearby, he'd spot it on the map immediately.
"Space Stone? What's that?" Nick Fury was taken aback: "Another name for the Tesseract?"
"You don't trust me, so why should I tell you?"
Fang Mo rolled his eyes again.
"If things get out of control, I'll allow you to make a move—but only to contain the situation and protect civilians." Nick Fury said: "On one condition: you have to tell me everything you know about the Tesseract."
"The Tesseract's original name is the Space Stone... and there are at least five more things just as powerful as it in the universe."
Fang Mo clapped his hands: "Alright, I'm done. Speaking of which, are we there yet? Looks like a fight's already started up ahead."
By now, the helicopter had flown near Broadway. Even several blocks away, towering flames could be seen. Panicked crowds scattered everywhere, and gunfire and explosions echoed from a distance. Clearly, the military was engaging something, but thick smoke and dust obscured the view, making it hard to see clearly.
But soon enough, an armored vehicle came flying out of the smoke, crashing straight into a shop. With a deafening boom, panic began to spread outward again.
"You said there are at least five more Space Stones in the universe?"
Nick Fury frowned at this: "You call it the Space Stone—do these stones have some kind of teleportation ability between them? Like a space gate? Could they attract aliens..."
Before Nick Fury could finish his sentence, Fang Mo had already vanished from his seat.
"Motherf—"
Nick Fury cursed out loud.
With the boss fight about to start, Fang Mo had no mood to keep chatting with Nick Fury.
Using the Ender Hand's teleportation ability, he left the helicopter and appeared on a nearby rooftop, close to the center of the battlefield.
Looking down from the rooftop, people were fleeing in all directions. Screams and cries filled the air. Countless cars were jammed together on the streets. Not far away, a massive yellow-green figure was slowly advancing, destroying everything in its path. Cars and people alike were torn into scattered debris, turning the street into a scene straight out of hell.
And after witnessing all this firsthand, Fang Mo found the Abomination even more brutal than the movie had portrayed.
Unlike the Hulk's rage, this thing exuded a wanton cruelty. To protect the civilians, soldiers and police were desperately attacking it, but bullets just bounced off its hide with a clinking sound.
It casually grabbed a soldier, squeezed his waist with both hands, and with a sickening tear, ripped the man in two. The soldier wasn't even dead yet, writhing and screaming in agony. Blood and entrails splattered across the Abomination, making it grin with savage excitement.
This was the real Abomination.
A monster driven by pure destructive desire.
Two soldiers raised rocket launchers and pulled the triggers. Flames roared as a rocket streaked straight toward the Abomination.
But the Abomination raised a hand, catching the rocket mid-flight. The next second, its fingers clenched. With a deafening boom, flames engulfed it, but they quickly dissipated, revealing the unharmed monster beneath.
"Heh heh heh..."
The Abomination looked at the soldiers, flashing a cruel smile. Then it lunged forward.
It was like a charging armored truck. Every vehicle and piece of debris in its path was sent flying. The two soldiers, terrified out of their wits, immediately reversed their armored vehicle.
But the Abomination clearly wasn't going all out.
It was reveling in its newfound power. Even chasing these two soldiers was more about enjoying a cat-and-mouse game. Once it got bored, those soldiers were dead.
Soon, the soldiers' armored vehicle hit a traffic jam and got stuck.
The pursuing Abomination grinned cruelly, then stomped on a nearby taxi. The taxi flipped up from the impact, and the Abomination grabbed it with both hands, roaring at the military camera on the armored vehicle: "Go! Bring me a stronger opponent!"
With that, it hurled the car straight ahead.
But in that instant, a flash of purple light streaked by.
"You sure?"
As this voice suddenly rang out, the car that had been hurtling forward abruptly hung suspended in midair.
The Abomination froze in surprise at the sight, but what he didn't expect was that the car would come hurtling straight toward him instead, its wheels grinding harshly across his face.
And just as the Abomination was struck in the face by the car, a sudden vwoom erupted as countless violet specks of light burst forth ahead, and a black figure materialized out of thin air.
"A stronger opponent is here."
Fang Mo's calm voice echoed throughout the entire street.
