Boingo's Stand-in, Thoth, was a comic book.

Its ability was rather subtle, even giving Fang Mo the feeling of the human-skin parchment from Terror Awakening.

Unlike the bluster Fang Mo always spouted, Thoth was true future sight in every sense of the term. It could make scenes from the future appear on its pages in comic form.

In a sense, these scenes were projections of fate itself. In other words, they were predetermined facts, things that would inevitably happen no matter what.

Any attempt to change them

would instead become the trigger that brought them about.

Fang Mo thought back for a moment. If he remembered correctly, when the Boingo brothers first appeared, they had used a prophecy to avoid a disaster.

The two had originally intended to take a bus, but Thoth showed that the bus would get into an accident and one person aboard would definitely die. After reading the comic, the brothers chose to wait for the next bus, thus avoiding the danger.

This was where Thoth's mechanics needed to be explained.

In the world of JOJO, fate was a supernatural force with an extremely high priority.

Whether it was Thoth's comic prophecies or Epitaph, the ability of the two-faced emperor Diavolo from Part Five, the future scenes observed through Stand-in abilities... were all bound to happen.

But exactly how those future scenes would come to pass was impossible to know.

Other than the facts destined to occur, however, the more ambiguous areas could still be manipulated slightly.

Take the Boingo brothers as an example. Thoth prophesied that the bus would crash and that one passenger was fated to die, but the comic never foretold that the two of them would definitely board the bus and die.

So, they could choose to wait for the next bus
