Just as Walter had said.
Before long, the other members of the Roundtable Conference arrived.
Of course, after seeing this battlefield strewn with devastation, the Secretaries of State could not help showing looks of astonishment. They had long heard that a fire had broken out at Hellsing headquarters... but damage this absurd clearly could not have been caused by a fire alone.
After all, no matter how exaggerated a fire was, it could never burn the corpses on the ground into piles of ash, could it?
Even the shell casings, shields, helmets, firearms, and everything else had been melted down, leaving metal wreckage scattered everywhere after cooling.
This place... looked as though it had been ravaged by some fire-breathing monster.
"Lord Hellsing."
An elderly man with impeccably combed hair adjusted his glasses and could not help asking, "What exactly happened here? Could you explain?"
"Lord Alucard."
Integra sighed helplessly. "Please proceed to the basement first. I will explain the details to everyone afterward."
"Very well."
Though everyone looked doubtful, they still followed her deeper underground.
Since the construction crew had been wiped out by the ghouls, the temporary meeting room from before obviously had not been completed. Integra wanted to convene the Roundtable Conference, but given the current state of Hellsing headquarters... she could not even produce a round table.
Fortunately, the Secretaries of State did not care about such details.
At Integra's command, the Police Woman brought over several chairs and arranged them in a circle, barely making this a Roundtable Conference.
"I trust you all saw what happened outside."
As soon as they were seated, Integra got straight to the point. "The situation is now extremely serious. Even Hellsing headquarters has come under attack by vampires. And these vampires are not naturally born—they are artificial monsters created deliberately..."
