Lao Hei was speechless. "No wonder you have to steal other people's Spirit Rings! What rotten luck!"
"A Soul Tool? Holy crap, don't tell me this guy's been hiding all his good stuff in there!" Ling Ren said excitedly.
Wang Feng froze.
Wang Feng smiled.
After falling from such a height, even Lao Hei would've been left dizzy and spitting blood.
The three of them exchanged glances, speechless for a moment.
"That does make sense. You usually need time to get used to a new Soul Skill. An attack like that is really dangerous."
It had a full twenty-four cubic spaces inside—a divine artifact for storing things!
Still, he'd keep it. He'd carry it around; it looked great.
Ling Ren was astonished. "How did we end up falling down together...?"
Wang Feng, Ling Ren, and Lao Hei stared at the books, their expressions changing in different ways.
The three hurried toward where the two had landed. When they got a good look, they froze.
It was a gift from Grandmaster.
"You're so worked up. Don't tell me it's a love token?"
"Where's that guy?"
"Let go, and I'll make sure you land safely."
Li Ying panicked even more.
"Who knows?" Wang Feng shrugged. "Didn't he say it was his new Soul Skill? He probably hasn't mastered it yet. Otherwise, he wouldn't have let me use him as a cushion."
That seemed normal enough.
The three studied Wang Feng for a while.
The two of them had fallen together, so how had this kid come away without a scratch?
Li Ying's mouth twitched again.
Because these books were unmistakably pornographic.
"Huh? What's this?" Wang Feng looked Li Ying over, walked over, and ran his hands across him.
Still, his body was exceptionally tough. Even falling from nearly twenty meters up hadn't done much to him.
Of course he knew what this was. Xiao San had a famous Soul Tool of his own: Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges.
Lao Hei seemed to know what he was doing. His two rough hands immediately started rummaging over Li Ying.
They hadn't heard what the two of them had said, either.
The three finally understood. So that was it.
Lao Hei shot Li Ying a mocking glance and gave him a kick. "How stupid can you be? You haven't even mastered your Soul Skill, and you still dared to use it? Then you let someone use you as a cushion? With a move like that, you're obviously supposed to launch your opponent into the air and pull away. But you went and fell right alongside him? What an idiot!"
Once you've beaten a monster, you loot the corpse. It was a fine tradition.
The child in the black robe shook the dust off himself. When he saw the three approaching, he grinned at them.
The three looked over and immediately drew in a sharp breath.
Compared to Xiao San's, this one was far inferior.
Wang Feng seemed to remember something. He hurriedly leaped out of the small crater and pointed at Li Ying inside.
But he thought, Do you really look like you're in excruciating pain?
The wind howled past his ears. He had no idea where the kid had gotten the strength to bind his arms and legs so tightly.
"You're here?"
"..." Li Ying.
When Wang Feng took a look, his face turned bright red. He turned to Li Ying and cursed, "You disgusting creep!"
"Kid, let go!" Li Ying roared.
But Li Ying was the one who'd really suffered.
Before long, Wang Feng pulled out a white ring. It looked a bit like a finger ring.
"Nothing useful, just these books..." Wang Feng said regretfully. "What a poor bastard. He probably got lucky and picked up this Soul Tool. If he had to buy one, he probably couldn't afford something this precious."
"Sir, I'm begging you... let go," Li Ying pleaded in a trembling voice.
His body was probably badly injured by now; he'd broken several ribs.
"I won't."
"You really are a talented bastard!" Wang Feng said, dumbfounded. "Did this guy get married or something? With a face like his, someone actually married him?"
Before long, he pulled out a small pouch.
"When we were falling, I used him as a cushion."
The three watched as, within seconds, the two of them slammed into the ground almost simultaneously!
He hadn't failed to master the skill. This kid had bound him, so he couldn't pull away!
Wang Feng, however, found it novel and rather useful. He could store odds and ends in it, which would make traveling much more convenient.
"Fine, I'll go first!" Wang Feng urged the three. "Otherwise, we really will have come all this way for nothing..."
"Books? What books?" Si Rong asked curiously.
"Hurry up and see if he has any Gold Soul Coins on him."
"Don't be like that. The earth is our mother. Let's all return to our mother's embrace together."
"Why didn't he let go of you just now?" Ling Ren asked, puzzled. "Is Cloud Sky Throw really a Soul Skill that takes both of you down together?"
The two hadn't seen what happened.
Li Ying spat out another mouthful of blood and pointed at Wang Feng, but couldn't get a single word out.
When Li Ying leaped up while holding Wang Feng, and as they fell, they were both spinning at high speed. The three couldn't make out what was happening.
"6666! Holy crap, a Soul Tool is so precious, and you actually used it to store this stuff?" Wang Feng burst out laughing at Li Ying, whose secret had just been exposed.
Wang Feng thought to himself that someone who hunted Soul Beasts alone was either extremely powerful or had no connections or money, and couldn't find anyone to help. That was why he resorted to such underhanded tricks.
Si Rong swallowed and asked, "Y-you're okay?"
The ring held only two or three cubic spaces.
"Lao Hei, let me search him."
Lao Hei asked.
Li Ying's eyes were rolled back, blood dripped from his mouth, and he lay there like a dead fish.
Wang Feng and Ling Ren watched with interest.
"He's so poor!" Lao Hei spat several times.
Boom!
"Look, isn't he right here?"
"Huh, is Cloud Sky Throw a Soul Skill that takes both people down together?"
At that moment, Si Rong suddenly said gravely, "Xiao Mie must be hurt!"
"Quick, let's go check!"
None of the three had any Soul Power left.
In truth, the two of them had fallen together.
"Even calling me Dad won't help."
Wang Feng was puzzled.
What... how was he acting like nothing had happened?
"There should be dozens of Gold Soul Coins. Not a bad haul." Lao Hei opened the pouch, and his face immediately darkened. "Why are they all Silver Soul Coins? There are only a few Gold Soul Coins?"
"I am hurt. My whole body aches like crazy..." Wang Feng smiled.
Li Ying panicked.
"..."
"Xiao Mie, this isn't a ring... It must be a Soul Tool! I can't believe this guy has such a precious Soul Tool!"
Compared with Wang Feng, who was completely unharmed, Li Ying was in truly terrible shape.
The moment he saw the ring, Li Ying struggled violently, but all he could manage was a few twitches. No matter how hard he struggled, it was useless.
If he kept falling like this, he wasn't made of iron, nor was he some defensive Battle Soul Master built to take a beating... Wouldn't he be crippled?
Wang Feng examined it, then moved his hand. Several books, stitched together with thread, suddenly appeared in his palm.
Lao Hei's face turned red.
