Background

Yi Jue began as a genius disciple of the Grand Void Gate. After reaching the Nascent Soul Fourth Layer, she chose to transfer to the Spirit Plant Dao because spirit plants better suited her personal pursuit of the Dao. The Grand Void Gate accepted the decision, both respecting her path and retaining a trusted representative within the Eighteen Daos. 1905

Her advancement was exceptional even among high-level cultivators: she rose from Nascent Soul Fourth Layer to Ninth Layer in approximately two centuries. By the time Dou De entered the Qi Refining Realm, Yi Jue had already left the Grand Void Gate and become a legendary figure to its younger generation. 1905

Although she insists that she has left the Grand Void Gate behind, she still reacts strongly when its reputation or disciples are slighted. During the Yiyao conflict, she criticized Dou De's handling of Grand Void affairs, defended him from mockery, and helped expose the political motives behind the attempt on Feng Jun's life. 1905

Appearance

Yi Jue is a breathtakingly beautiful woman who commonly wears palace robes. Her cold expression, restrained bearing, and memorable appearance make her immediately recognizable even among high-level cultivators. 1905 2246 3383

  • Often appears in elegant palace robes. 2246
  • Maintains an aloof, expressionless demeanor when displeased. 1905
  • Can alter her appearance and suppress her cultivation for covert operations. 2632 2737
  • Her presence and bearing are distinctive enough that imitators need more than her face to convincingly impersonate her. 3383

Personality

Yi Jue is reclusive, blunt, and deeply unwilling to waste time on social obligations. She dislikes banquets, formal lectures, excessive explanations, and Dao paths that would require constant interaction with others. Her coldness is not simple hostility; she is direct with people she considers beneath notice and expects others to understand her reasoning without ceremony. 2088 2745 3189

She possesses a strong personal code. Yi Jue insists on fair division of labor, refuses to claim credit for Feng Jun's discoveries, and opposes coercive exchanges even when she has the power to seize what she wants. 2209 3331

Her pride can become willfulness. She openly grants favors to old friends, refuses to extend those favors to people who demand equal treatment, and relies on her strength to bear the consequences of her decisions. 3253

Despite her poor social skills, Yi Jue is dependable once she accepts someone as an ally. She protects Feng Jun's identity, keeps watch over him in dangerous situations, and supports him with full effort rather than half measures. 2191 2203 2362
