| Ninth ring on Soul-Eater Spider Emperor | 197 198 | Kills and absorbs a hundred-thousand-year Ice Jade Scorpion, completing a configuration of five black and four red. The chapter identifies her as the continent's strongest Soul Master; the ring grants Wrath of the Glacier. |
| Divine trials restarted | 236 | Explains that her Nine Rakshasa Trials became eight when the Rakshasa God chose Su Wen. She declines to finish them and begins a new set of trials, expressing relief rather than resentment. |
Background / History
Early papacy and disciples
Bibi Dong ascended to the papal throne approximately one year before Su Wen became her disciple. Her political foundation was initially unstable, and Su Wen judged Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo to be the only Elder Hall members she could reliably mobilize. She cultivated Ye Yuan'er's support by promising assistance with her ninth Spirit Ring and a personal title-conferment ceremony 2.
Recognizing that Su Wen's Martial Soul surpassed the quality of both her own, Bibi Dong offered him discipleship immediately after his awakening. She supplied a storage tool, her token, and her meditation method, then arranged personal instruction after he obtained his first ring 1 2.
She housed him in the Saintess Hall, her former residence, and introduced Hu Liena as his junior sister. Their training included cultivation, swordsmanship, coordinated sparring, and written battle reflections 10 14 15 48.
Consolidating the Pope Hall
Bibi Dong sent Su Wen to the academy to build his own base of supporters. She also announced plans to appoint him Holy Son and Hu Liena Holy Maiden, confronting the Worship Hall rather than seeking its approval 43 53 55.
Her resource decisions accounted for institutional consequences. When Su Wen sought a Spirit Bone to recruit Dugu Bo, she recognized the value of acquiring a Title Douluo but worried that other recruits would demand the same reward. She approved the arrangement while requiring secrecy 47 48.
The captured Sky Dream Ice Silkworm later gave her leverage over the Worship Hall. In exchange for access to its origin power, she demanded recognition of Su Wen's Holy Son status, shared access for the Elder Hall, and assistance from the Worship Hall. Qian Daoliu accepted most conditions but retained control of the Angel Legion Commander position 205 206.
Spirit Beast hunts
Bibi Dong obtained her seventh Soul-Eater Spider Emperor ring from A Rou. After the rabbit emperor's explosion, she first checked Su Wen's safety, then recovered the ring and Spirit Bone. She chose to return and consolidate her gains rather than continue pursuing the escaped Xiao Wu 26.
During Di Tian's attack, she ordered Ye Yuan'er to evacuate the younger Soul Masters and fought to cover their retreat. She escaped after wounding Di Tian with Eternal Wound 64 65.
In the later battle against Xiong Jun, she entered a dangerous energy storm to secure the kill. His self-detonation destroyed her body and storage tool, but Undying Body reconstructed her. She recovered his external left palm bone and absorbed his 400,000-year ring despite tension with the Worship Hall elders over the loot 85 86 87.
Her Far North expedition secured her ninth ring from an Ice Jade Scorpion. The party subsequently uncovered Myriad-Year Profound Ice Marrow and captured Sky Dream Ice Silkworm. She spared the silkworm because its continuing benefits outweighed taking its Spirit Bone 197 198 200 204.
Northern crisis
After fighting and seriously injuring the Ice Empress, Bibi Dong later decided against a direct confrontation with the Three Heavenly Kings of the Far North, judging the likely losses too severe. She assigned selected elders to act, ordered civilian evacuation assistance, and kept several little-known Title Douluo in closed-door cultivation 202 212.
When the beast tide ended through Su Wen's negotiations, she arrived with Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo, asserted Martial Soul Hall's authority over the northern borders, and announced the war's end 223.
Su Wen and the divine trials
Cultivating near Su Wen brought Bibi Dong unusually restful sleep. She later explained that his Martial Soul alleviated the mental torment caused by the Rakshasa inheritance 56 142.
Their relationship crossed beyond mentorship, but Bibi Dong repeatedly tried to preserve their public teacher–disciple identities. The supplied account includes her initiating intimate contact while Su Wen slept, followed by guilt and attempts to compensate him. Later encounters continued in secrecy, with Bi Ji increasingly suspicious 133 139 147 165 209.
Bibi Dong originally wanted Su Wen to become the Rakshasa Grand Pontiff. Once the Rakshasa God took a personal interest in him, however, she opposed exposing him to the same torment she had endured and suggested delaying his trial 79 231.
She confronted the deity directly over Su Wen and asked what was required to continue her own trial. By Chapter 236, she had abandoned the reduced eight-trial path and was relieved to start new divine trials 232 236.
Appearance
- Hair and face: Wine-red hair tinged with purple, often styled in soft curls; fair skin, phoenix-shaped eyes, willow-like eyebrows, and red lips 16 55 65.
- Build: Tall and slender, with long legs and a mature appearance 16 88.
- Papal attire: A fitted purple robe or dress with gold patterns, the Nine-Curved Purple Gold Crown, and the Pope's Scepter 16 211 223.
- Training attire: A short, practical outfit with her hair tied high, replacing her ceremonial clothing during sword practice 48.
- Death Spider Emperor transformation: Purple-black armor and spider features; her lower body becomes spider-like when she releases its avatar 25 65.
- Soul-Eater Spider Emperor transformation: Dark-green armor, a spiderweb mark on her forehead, three pairs of spider legs extending from her back, and arms transformed into Spider Spears 202.
Personality
Bibi Dong is authoritative and demanding with her disciples. She reprimands unauthorized outings, requires regular cultivation, and uses exhausting sparring sessions to expose weaknesses. Nevertheless, she warns Hu Liena that risking a damaged foundation for a slightly older early Spirit Ring is not worthwhile 14 15 18 94.
As Pope, she weighs recruitment costs, cultivates loyal subordinates, conceals sensitive information, and bargains with rival power centers. Her acceptance of Bi Ji and Zi Ji is conditional: useful cooperation does not erase her concern about their allegiance to the Spirit Beasts 22 47 104 106 186.
Her attachment to Su Wen becomes protective, jealous, and controlling. She requests reports on the women he meets, rejects his proposed marriage alliance with Princess Xue Ke, and threatens to commit Martial Soul Hall's entire elite force if his expedition ends in disaster 106 146 149.
Privately, she is more vulnerable than her public bearing suggests. She struggles with shame over their relationship, fears exposure, and experiences loneliness when he does not visit. Her trials also leave her physically and mentally exhausted; she hides their details because she does not want Su Wen to see the version of her driven toward madness 163 209.
Her hostility toward the Qian Family is severe. She envisages eliminating them after becoming a god and later offers Qian Xi'er to the Rakshasa God to protect Su Wen, declaring that those loyal to the Qian Family deserve death 163 234.
Abilities & Skills
Twin Martial Souls
Both the Death Spider Emperor and Soul-Eater Spider Emperor possess extreme darkness and evil attributes 1 236.
- Maintains separate Spirit Ring configurations for each Martial Soul 25.
- Switches between them in combat to alternate defense, survival, and offensive skills 86 202.
- Draws on firsthand experience to warn Su Wen about cultivating incompatible twin souls. She instructs him to keep his second soul secret and add no rings before reaching Title Douluo 236.
- Her two dark souls are compatible; Su Wen's opposing evil and kindness attributes could burden his body or clash 236.
Death Spider Emperor
This Martial Soul supplies several of her defensive and survival techniques.
- Fourth Spirit Skill — Thorn Spider Armor: Creates spiked purple-black armor. It consumes power while maintained and does not prevent her from moving rapidly 86 202.
- Sixth Spirit Skill — Vampire Spider Thorn: Releases dense volleys of spider thorns; she uses it simultaneously with her clone against Di Tian 65.
- Sixth Spirit Skill — Thousand Blades and Myriad Shields: Produces dozens of rotating shields capable of resisting a powerful energy storm 202.
- Seventh Spirit Skill — Martial Soul Avatar: Transforms her body with spider characteristics and allows her to fight using spider legs 25.
- Eighth Spirit Skill — Spider Emperor Clone: Creates a second identical Bibi Dong. She uses the duplicate for coordinated attacks and to intercept an opponent while fighting elsewhere 65 84.
- Ninth Spirit Skill — Undying Body: Reconstructs her body after Xiong Jun's explosion crushes it. The skill does not preserve her clothing or storage tool 86.
Soul-Eater Spider Emperor
Her second Martial Soul combines devouring properties with powerful cutting attacks.
- Devouring: Completely consumes opponents, a trait she compares approvingly with Su Wen's use of bodies and souls 93.
- First Spirit Skill — Half Moon: Releases a crescent-shaped energy blade whose direction can change. She credits its returning strike with securing Xiong Jun's final blow 65 86.
- Second Spirit Skill — Spear of Interminable Space: Launches a high-speed spear attack. Later passages render the skill as Spear of Infinite Hell 65 197.
- Sixth Spirit Skill — Eternal Wound: A defense-ignoring strike accompanied by lingering erosive energy. It wounds Di Tian and bypasses the Ice Jade Scorpion's shell 65 130 197 202.
- Eighth Spirit Skill — Sky-Ripping Claw: Derived from Xiong Jun's 400,000-year ring; manifests a huge bear claw with dark-gold cutting power. Also rendered as Sky-Rending Palm 87 199 202.
- Ninth Spirit Skill — Wrath of the Glacier: Releases freezing force and a destructive ice-and-snow storm. She uses it against the Ice Empress's Domain of Eternal Freeze 202.
- Power cost: Repeated hundred-thousand-year skills consume spirit power faster than her Soul Core restores it 202.
Mental Power and Perception
Her mental power remains at the Limit Douluo level even when her usable soul power is suppressed 65 84.
- Her skull Spirit Bone enhances her mental capabilities to near-demigod strength 65.
- Counters Di Tian's mental shock and overwhelms Yao Ling's mental technique while multitasking 65 84.
- Uses spirit-power examination to assess cultivation, bodily condition, and residual energy from Spirit Bones 39 66 77.
- Detects divine activity when Ye Yuan'er attracts a deity's attention 162.

- Her spider spikes drain life from surrounding vegetation 25.
- Oversees Dugu Yan's Immortal Herb absorption and assesses the resulting Martial Soul mutation 100.
