Background

Ye Lingling inherited a comprehensive Medicinal Herb Illustration Guide from her parents. The aged reference work identifies at least ninety percent of continental herbs and allows Zhao Mu to recognize immortal herbs at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. She lends it to him without asking for compensation. 41

Her original Nine-Heart Begonia martial soul was bound by a hereditary restriction: it passed through a single line, only two such soul masters could exist at once, and a new successor could appear only after one died. Ye Lingling regarded this isolation as a curse and sought a way to end it for herself and future inheritors. 41

Dugu Yan's successful martial-soul evolution gives Ye Lingling hope. In exchange for Zhao Mu's help, she is willing to pay any price, though Zhao Mu agrees because of her friendship with Dugu Yan and her earlier assistance rather than demanding anything from her. 41

Zhao Mu has her refine the Aromatic Silk Beauty.
