Wind Forbidden Island was a picturesque island far out at sea. Most of the island was windless year-round, which was how it had gotten its name.
At the island's very heart, however, lay a strange place known as the Wind Eye Land. It was a rare cultivation treasure trove, exceptionally suited to Saint Realm experts seeking insight into the Laws of Wind Elements. As a result, quite a few wind-attribute Saint Realm experts had settled there.
Wind Forbidden Island stretched for several dozen miles in every direction. Though it was only an isolated island in the ocean, it still boasted a fairly bustling city. Its residents, however, were somewhat unusual.
"Over there!"
Ignoring the many ordinary residents on the island, Luo Ya flew straight toward the City Lord Mansion.
Behind the City Lord Mansion.
Luo Ya suddenly appeared above a tranquil, crystal-clear lake.
"What a beautiful place!"
Looking down from above, he saw the clear lake nestled among encircling mountains. Its crystalline waters made it look like a jewel set into the mountains, and flowers bloomed along the shore in a breathtaking display.
The place was so beautiful that Luo Ya couldn't help wishing he could settle there.
"Luo Ya!" Just then, a familiar, lovely figure appeared before him. Their eyes met, filled with affection, and each saw the other reflected in their eyes.
Three years had passed, but Milia was still as spirited and radiant as ever. Her golden hair was swept up in a neat bun, and the bright sunlight made her look even more enchanting.
"Milia, I'm here!" Luo Ya's voice trembled with excitement, but more than anything, he sounded carefree and joyful.
After becoming a god, he felt as though he had shed a thousand-pound burden.
On the Western Continent, becoming a Saint Realm expert meant one could look down on ordinary people. Yet the existence of god-level experts still weighed on every Saint Realm expert.
For example, when he'd run into Nilo last time, the man had toyed with him.
If he'd encountered a god-level expert with an even worse disposition, he might have died that day—and lost any chance of seeing Milia again.
Now, however, he had become a god. More importantly, he possessed Willpower, an extraordinary trump card. At least on this Material Plane, no one could do anything to him.
That would remain true even if he encountered those two Midgods or Laura, the Plane Overseer!
"Luo Ya, I sensed the fluctuations of the Laws of Heaven and Earth earlier, so I guessed you must have become a god!" Milia flew up into the air, and Luo Ya pulled her tightly into his arms.
Becoming a god was a momentous occasion worth celebrating, even for two geniuses like them.
"Of course it was me!" Luo Ya felt the warmth of the young woman in his arms and greedily breathed in the sweet fragrance of her hair.
It was the first time since they'd met that Luo Ya and Milia had been so close.
"Milia, I managed to become a god before you this time." He had fallen behind her in the Fusion Profound Mysteries, but he'd managed to take the lead when it came to becoming a god.
"Mm, you won again." Milia laughed brightly, her silvery eyes narrowing into two lovely crescents.
"By the way, Luo Ya, did you hear that mysterious voice just now? It somehow appeared in my mind, and I have no idea who the 'young friend' he mentioned could be." As if she'd just remembered something amusing, Milia blurted it out.
"Milia, you heard that voice too?" Luo Ya froze.
Then he thought of something and immediately used his divine sense to search the other residents of Wind Forbidden Island. He discovered that nearly everyone was talking about it.
For at least the next three days, the identity of the mysterious voice's owner—and of the "young friend"—would probably be a hot topic.
"What's wrong, Luo Ya?" Milia looked at him in confusion, noticing the sudden, rueful smile on his face.
"Nothing. But Milia, I don't think you and I were the only ones who heard that voice. Everyone on Wind Forbidden Island—and probably everyone in the entire Valen Plane—must have heard it." Luo Ya still had no idea that countless planes, including the eleven Divine Planes, had heard the voice just moments ago.
"Besides, he only said, 'I'm waiting for you here.' Could that mean..." Luo Ya had just noticed a blind spot.
If Linley had already transcended and become Linmeng, then Hongmeng wouldn't have said "I." He would have included his brother and said, "We're waiting for you."
"Then the timeline I'm in must be before the age of Linley." At first glance, that news might not seem especially useful, but it was anything but.
For one thing, the Four Divine Beasts would eventually fall, leaving four unclaimed Sovereign Sparks in the world. And then there was the information about the future Overgod Mission. Both were worth an immeasurable amount.
With the right plans, obtaining a Sovereign Spark or an Overgod Artifact might not be impossible.
"Even though I have Willpower now, under normal circumstances, I'd have almost no chance of obtaining a Sovereign Spark. It looks like I'll have to pay close attention to developments when I go to the Divine Plane in the future." One of the four Sovereign Sparks held by the Four Divine Beast Sovereigns was a Water Sovereign Spark.
Though his talent in the Laws of Water was inferior to his talent in the Laws of Darkness, he had no problem cultivating to Highgod on his own.
Of course, he still had no idea how long it would be before the Four Divine Beasts fell. For now, it was all just a theory.
And with him here, flapping his butterfly wings, who knew what other changes the future might bring?
He filed this away as another matter to watch closely in the future, then came back to himself and looked at the golden-haired young woman, who wore an expression of utter astonishment.
"You mean everyone on the continent heard that voice? How powerful must its owner be? Even the Thunder God couldn't do that, could he?" The Thunder God Milia meant was the ruler of the Western Continent, a Midgod who cultivated the Laws of Lightning Elements.
A Midgod's divine sense could probably spread only about a hundred thousand miles across a Material Plane, while the two continents of the Valen Plane each spanned more than ten million miles. There was no way the Thunder God could pull off something like that.
"Who knows? Maybe it was a legendary Chief Sovereign." Luo Ya smiled faintly, then leisurely gazed at the woman before him.
There was a saying: you only learned to cherish something after losing it.
Luo Ya had never lost Milia, but his last encounter with Nilo had certainly been a wake-up call. It had made him realize just how sincere his feelings for Milia were.
If he let this girl slip away, he would regret it someday.
The path of cultivation was about constantly striving to become stronger, but people weren't machines built for cultivation. They needed other bonds in their lives.
The stronger one became, the lonelier one was.
Even someone as powerful as Hongmeng was always hoping he might gain another brother. Why should Luo Ya be any different?
To have beautiful scenery along the way and a beloved woman by his side was a blessing in its own right.
