Background

Linley was born on the Qingya Material Plane’s Yulan Continent to Hogg of the Baruch family and Linna, a Light-law Midgod. His parents chose to raise him in the Material Plane rather than Hell so that he could experience a less sheltered upbringing. He was later joined by a younger brother, Wharton 173.

At six, Linley began cultivation under the Earth- and Wind-law practitioner Doehring Cowart. His parents recognized his exceptional affinities for Earth and Wind, as well as his potential in Fire and Water 173. During his early training, he formed an equal contract with the Shadow Mouse Bebe, establishing a bond that neither regarded as master and servant 173 174.

Linley later removed a cyan divine sword from a sealing magic array, unintentionally releasing inmates from the Gebada Plane Prison. The incident exposed Bebe’s lineage as Beirut’s grandson and prompted Hogg and Linna to reveal that they were Highgods. The family subsequently departed for Hell, bringing Doehring with them 174.

Personality

Linley is driven by self-improvement and openly seeks to understand the gap between himself and stronger opponents. Even after becoming an Asura, he challenges Qinghuo specifically to learn what separates a peak Highgod from a Paragon 176 177.

He remains decisive under pressure. When Bayer pursues him, Linley deliberately sacrifices the apparent safety of his Dragonform body to conceal his more valuable Wind God Clone within his Earth God Clone, preserving his chance to reach Grand Perfection 177 178.

His determination is most evident after Bayer’s soul attack leaves his main body and Water God Clone near death. Rather than accept their loss, Linley attempts a breakthrough to Wind Paragon and uses the Laws of Heaven and Earth to save them 178.

Baruch Clan Elder and Qingyan Prefect

After attaining Water godhood and awakening Dragon Roar, Linley rapidly becomes a Seven-Star Fiend and Baruch clan elder. He later challenges and kills Qingyan Prefect Camis, earning the position of Prefect and recognition as an Asura of Hell 175 176.

Pursuit of Grand Perfection

Though already second only to a Wind Paragon in Wind-law attainment, Linley is decisively defeated by Qinghuo and learns that Paragons possess Willpower granted by the Laws of Heaven and Earth. Seeking his own final breakthrough, he enters the Plane Battlefield with Bebe 176 177.

Bayer’s Pursuit and Soul Mutation

Bayer hunts Linley for revenge and nearly annihilates his Dragonform body and Water God Clone with a Paragon-level soul attack. Linley preserves his Wind God Clone through deception, breaks through to Wind Paragon, saves his endangered clones through the Laws of Heaven and Earth, and successfully undergoes four-element soul mutation 177 178 179.

Final Transcendence

Luo Lan recruits Linley to fuse the Four Divine Beasts’ essence blood, a task only his four-element soul mutation and Azure Dragon bloodline can complete. Linley then refines four Sovereign Sparks, forms a Hongmeng Body through four-element Sovereign Power fusion, and ultimately becomes a Hongmeng Controller 179.
