Inside the Space Ring of Alex.
A lifeless space, floating with a vast array of items—heavy swords, purple whips, long spears, and armor—all of which were undoubtedly High-God artifacts, and of quite high quality at that. Any artifact worthy of being collected by Alex was a masterpiece.
Deep within the Space Ring, there were large quantities of Inkstone and Azure Stone. However, what struck Hodan as strange was that the value of these Inkstones amounted to only about a hundred billion, which was less than Hodan's own wealth.
This could not possibly be the total fortune of a Seven-Star Fiend. The three Six-Star Fiend tribal leaders he had encountered previously each possessed hundreds of billions; for Alex to have only this hundred billion was absolutely nonsensical. Furthermore, the fact that the ring could be bound by a drop of blood proved that Alex was truly dead.
Beside these Inkstones and Azure Stones lay a jade bottle, and resting on the mouth of the bottle was a scarlet bead about ten centimeters in diameter. Why would Alex keep this peculiar bead near his Space Ring, and specifically place it next to the pile of Inkstones?
Hodan noticed that the Inkstones and Azure Stones were constantly emitting a dark gray mist, which then condensed into wisps of vapor around this scarlet bead.
The moment Hodan laid eyes on this scarlet bead, a surge of longing emanated from both his body and his soul.
This longing urged him: Quickly, hurry and absorb it, now, immediately.
Hodan felt that absorbing this bead would be of immense benefit to the improvement of his strength.
Hodan took the scarlet bead into his right hand to examine it. Driven by the constant leaping and agitation of his soul, Hodan sliced a small opening in his left hand and pressed the bead against the wound.
The bead rapidly softened upon contact with the wound and then, like blood, merged into Hodan's body.
Hodan instantly felt a peculiar energy surge through his entire body. His body began to autonomously absorb the Thunder Element and Destruction divine power from the heavens and earth, strengthening itself of its own accord.
Then, this energy permeated his soul. Hodan suddenly felt his comprehension of the Thunder laws and Destruction Rules deepen significantly; his potential in both the Thunder and Destruction paths was being continuously enhanced and unlocked.
Under the reinforcement of this power, if Hodan's talent for Thunder and Destruction had previously been one, it was now ten thousand. Even if Hodan did not actively cultivate the Thunder laws, his body, reinforced by this power, would naturally become a Thunder High-God in a few hundred years.
If he were to cultivate autonomously, it would be even faster; he could likely become a High-God in half a year. However, Hodan would not do that. The fusion of profound mysteries is best performed at the Mid-God stage. Originally, Hodan had little talent for the Thunder element, and he had been prepared to let his Thunder clone lie low and cultivate slowly. Now, his Thunder talent had suddenly increased ten thousandfold.
Hodan would certainly not miss this opportunity. He intended to fuse all the laws of the Thunder element while at the Mid-God stage, and then, the moment he became a High-God, complete the fusion to achieve the status of a Paragon.
As for the cultivation of the Destruction Rules, it was even simpler. The Four Rules do not involve the fusion of profound mysteries; one simply needs to comprehend them. With this talent boost, Hodan believed his Destruction God Clone would soon become a powerhouse.
Moreover, this bead had actually broken through the limits of Hodan's body. Originally, his body had reached the level of a High-God artifact and had essentially hit a ceiling, but ever since absorbing this bead, Hodan could feel his physical strength continuously increasing.
This bead could actually improve his talent and strengthen his body?
Hodan suddenly seemed to have an epiphany. Could it be that this bead was a miraculous object born of heaven and earth?
Legend has it that miraculous objects are treasures born of nature, containing incredible effects. Could this bead be one of those legendary miraculous objects?
As Hodan was immersed in this energy, a series of images suddenly surfaced in his mind.
It was a giant born in a massive and very special material plane. There were no other living creatures there, and it was filled with the power of thunder and destruction. After billions of years of gestation, a life was finally born.
He was born and grew up there. He had intended to leave that material plane to venture into the various planes once he reached maturity.
On the very day he reached maturity, two people fighting in the spatial turbulence destroyed his plane, and he died in the aftermath of their attacks.
Seeing this, Hodan naturally understood the giant's race—a Destruction Giant. Destruction Giants are born from the gestation of heaven and earth and are unique among countless planes. Beirut had a fellow clansman, but the Destruction Giants did not. There was only one such person in countless planes; as the saying goes, one person constitutes an entire race.
A Destruction Giant possesses a body with the strength of a High-God artifact from the moment of birth and can continuously absorb divine power from the Elemental Ocean to grow! Ultimately, they can grow to the level of a Sovereign Artifact.
A juvenile Destruction Giant is surrounded by yellow mist flashing with yellow lightning; a growing Destruction Giant is protected by purple mist flashing with purple lightning; a mature Destruction Giant is surrounded by black mist flashing with scarlet lightning! Each stage corresponds to a Low-God, Mid-God, and High-God.
Destruction Giants are natural favorites of the Destruction and Thunder elements. They do not need to cultivate; they are born at the God level and naturally grow to maturity in just a thousand years. A mature Destruction Giant's body is already at the level of a Sovereign Artifact. Combined with the cultivation of a High-God, even without fusing a single profound mystery, they possess the attack power of a Seven-Star Fiend. If they fuse four Thunder profound mysteries, they would easily have the attack power of a Paragon.
What Hodan had fused was the Blood Essence of a Destruction Giant. Perhaps heaven and earth did not want such a race to perish, or perhaps it was the obsession of the Destruction Giant, but the giant's body had fallen into Hell through a spatial rift.
Then, over the long passage of time, his body vanished, leaving behind only this Blood Essence containing an undying obsession, which Hodan had absorbed by a stroke of luck.
To absorb the Blood Essence of a Destruction Giant, one must simultaneously possess God clones of the Thunder element and the Destruction Rules. Alex cultivated the Earth and Fire laws, so he had no way to absorb the Destruction Giant's Blood Essence.
However, Alex would not give such a supreme treasure to others because he had accidentally discovered that when the Blood Essence was near Inkstones, it would autonomously refine the Sovereign's Power within them.
Everyone knows that Inkstones and Azure Stones contain trace amounts of Sovereign's Power, but very few people can refine it. The only publicly known person in Hell capable of refining Sovereign's Power was the peak powerhouse Aiken. Other Paragons or soul-mutants might also be able to refine it, but they had not made it public.
Alex had then converted his wealth into Sovereign's Power for self-preservation. What Hodan had witnessed was the Blood Essence autonomously refining Sovereign's Power, though the speed was not fast—it took nearly ten years to refine one drop of Sovereign's Power, and it consumed a trillion Inkstones in wealth.
