Silvermoon's elder brother, the Purple Blood Fiend, had possessed Sovereign's Might, but he had taken it all with him when he went to the Yulan Continent to fight for a Sovereign Spark. After all, he had been going to fight for a Sovereign Spark in a true battle to the death. He couldn't afford to leave himself anything less than fully armed, so he hadn't left any for Silvermoon.
Besides, if he succeeded, wouldn't he have as much Sovereign's Might as he wanted afterward? He wouldn't be short of Sovereign Artifacts, either. Unfortunately, he'd fallen into the Death Pit and never climbed back out.
Huoxie did enjoy forging, but making a good weapon took a great deal of time and effort. Forging something now and then was fine, but he wasn't keen on doing it all the time. He didn't want to make shoddy weapons, either—that would tarnish his reputation. Among the gods, Paragons were already invincible, and they cared a great deal about their reputations.
Besides, when he could avoid working and still have all the wine he could drink, what was there not to like?
Huoxie was a Paragon now, but he hadn't always been one. He had about a dozen drops of Sovereign's Might, all of which he'd obtained by participating in the Plane War. Since becoming a Paragon, he'd rarely needed to use it. Thanks to their Willpower, Paragons could control Sovereign's Might perfectly, preventing any power from leaking out. A single drop could last a long time.
But no one, not even a Paragon, would turn down more Sovereign's Might. Not everyone was a favored descendant of a Sovereign.
Huoxie hadn't given Hodan any Sovereign's Might before because he'd thought the equipment he'd given him was enough, and that his name would keep Hodan safe.
