Background

Huoxie is the only Huoxie Holy Beast in existence, born in the Celestial Realm. Legends describe his true form as a wolf-headed, lion-bodied beast with eagle wings, wreathed in Celestial Realm flames. His race is born with exceptional Light and Fire elemental talent and is said to feed on sinners' souls. 22

Before becoming a true Paragon, Huoxie was already a peak Asura whose fused Fire and Light mysteries, physical body, and three-piece Sovereign Artifact set let him face Paragons without falling behind. The Fire Element Sovereign Boteier once tried to recruit him as an envoy; when Huoxie refused, Boteier attempted to kill him. Fate Chief Sovereign Oufu intervened to preserve the sole member of Huoxie's species, in exchange for studying Huoxie's body and talent. 22

Disheartened by the encounter, Huoxie secluded himself on Flame Mountain near Silvermoon City. After swearing to the Supreme God that he would not leave the mountain range until he attained Paragonhood, he remained there for approximately 30 billion years. He took up blacksmithing both to occupy himself and to pursue his ideal of forging a perfect weapon. 24

In humanoid form, Huoxie is a short, fat, hairless scaled man who carries a black iron hammer. 22

Personality

Huoxie is blunt, teasing, and dismissive of excessive formality; he habitually calls Silvermoon “kid” and quickly brushed aside Boteier's formal greeting. 22

He is deeply committed to independence. He rejected the Fire Element Sovereign Boteier's recruitment attempt and later declined the Chief Sovereign of Black Sand's offer to become an envoy, despite the promise of Sovereign Power and an artifact of his choice. 22 30

Although reclusive and fond of idleness after his breakthrough, Huoxie is loyal to the few people he considers family. He treats Hodan and Silvermoon as brothers, provides them protection and resources, and agrees to face powerful enemies for their sake. 29 81

Flame Mountain and Breakthrough

Silvermoon brings Hodan to Flame Mountain to commission divine equipment. Huoxie accepts Golden Clarity Wine from Hodan, learns of his unusual talent, and agrees to forge a saber suited to him. 23 24

While discussing the pursuit of a perfect weapon, Hodan unknowingly gives Huoxie the insight needed to complete his final fusion. Huoxie becomes a true Paragon, gains freedom from his Supreme God oath, and names Hodan and Silvermoon as his friends. 24 25

Zhengdu's Forging

Huoxie forges Hodan's heavy saber, Zhengdu, and explains that its subdued, rusty appearance conceals its quality. He also provides Hodan with a soul-defense necklace, top-tier leather armor made partly from Huoxie's own molted skin, and a plaque bearing his Paragon aura. 28 29

Public Recognition and Sovereign Power Trade

After leaving Flame Mountain, Huoxie publicly reveals his Paragon status and refuses repeated offers to become a Sovereign envoy. His fame draws experts from Hell and other Divine Planes to Silvermoon City. 30

Hodan later uses Huoxie's reputation and protection to organize the extraction and sale of Sovereign Power from Inkstones. Huoxie acts as the trusted public face of the arrangement, delivering Sovereign Power to clients and taking half the profits. 54 61

Four Divine Beasts Clan Conflict

Huoxie joins Hodan and Silvermoon in confronting the Four Divine Beasts Clan. He establishes the group's overwhelming status by defeating the Vermilion Bird Clan Leader and extorting 1,100 drops of Sovereign Power from the clan. 81 87

He later supports Hodan before the Eight Great Clans' patriarchs and battles Dannington during the larger conflict. 89 100

Eight Great Clans Alliance
