Dixie Lane had never actually met Jonathan, but he had once happened to see a portrait of him, so he wasn't quite sure.
"Who are you?"
Jonathan had never met him either and didn't recognize him.
"Dixie Lane."
"So it's you."
"You've heard of me?"
"One of the two peerless geniuses of Ernst Academy back in the day." Jonathan smiled faintly.
"What peerless genius? I'm nowhere near as good as you and Linley."
At the mention of Linley, Dixie's expression darkened. He sighed. "But it's a real shame that a magical genius like Linley fell."
"Who said Linley was dead? I saw him a few years ago. He's probably cultivating in seclusion somewhere now."
Jonathan looked at Dixie. "You're a Level 7 Archmage, right? You're progressing a little slowly. Linley's probably already a Level 8 Magus by now. In terms of strength, there probably aren't many below the Saint Realm who could fight him."
"A Level 8 Magus, practically invincible below the Saint Realm?" Dixie was rocked by a storm of shock.
He had only occasionally heard of Jonathan and had never met him, but Linley had attended the same academy as him. Linley had gone from being inferior to him, to matching him, and then surpassing him.
Now Linley had left him far behind.
"Is he really that strong? How does he compare to you? I heard that a few years ago you challenged Kenyon of the War God Sect and defeated him despite being only at Level 9."
"What do you think?" Jonathan said with a smile, but didn't answer.
Seeing that he wouldn't reply, Dixie changed the subject. "What brings you to the Temple of Life?"
"I heard you became the High Priest's nominal disciple. Why don't you go report to the High Priest and tell her
