"Mr. Jonathan, you really are incredible. When I heard the news from my teacher, I froze on the spot. I thought I'd misheard."
"A Saint Magus at twenty-four—that's unprecedented. And you should be close to breaking through as a warrior, too."
"You flatter me, Mr. Padiste."
"After you've met my teacher, would you be willing to spar with me?"
"I expect I'll be staying at the Temple of Life for a while, so you're welcome to come by anytime, Mr. Padiste."
"Then it's settled."
At the top floor of the Temple of Life, Jonathan met the High Priest of legend. She was the first god-level powerhouse he had ever encountered.
She had long, flowing silver hair that fell down her back. A mask glowing faintly green covered her face, and she wore a moon-white robe. She was rather slender, but certainly not lacking in curves.
The High Priest, Catherine, was the longest-lived human on the Yulan Continent.
"Greetings, High Priest." Jonathan bowed slightly.
"Padiste, wait outside."
"Yes, teacher."
The High Priest, Catherine, studied Jonathan for a while. Then her lips parted, and a soft, heavenly voice rang out, so soothing that no one could bring themselves to oppose her.
"Your soul truly is extraordinary. You've only just broken through, yet it's already this powerful—far stronger than Padiste's. I doubt anyone below god-level on the Yulan Continent has a soul that can match yours."
"Is this your talent? No wonder you've advanced so quickly as a mage."
"The High Priest has a keen eye," Jonathan said.
"Did you come to the Temple of Life to read our magical texts?"
Jonathan nodded. "I'd like to study the magic of other elements and do some research."
"Of course. You may read any of the magical texts in the Temple of Life."
