After Freeman left, Matthews continued exploring the golden lotus in his Soul Sea. He discovered that its lotus space contained Sovereign's Might, which the golden lotus was slowly drawing from the Water Sovereign Spark.
Matthews tried to see if he could remove the Sovereign Spark embedded in the golden lotus as a lotus seed. But even after becoming a god, he still couldn't pull it out, so he gave up.
