Soul Golden Bead!
Sean's eyes lit up. As his two bodies merged into one, he looked at the two glowing golden beads in his hand. Deep within his soul, there seemed to be an instinct urging him to absorb them.
However, Sean held back. Since the quantity he could materialize at the moment was limited, he might urgently need them during future battles.
Generally speaking, if one had enough Soul Golden Beads, one could naturally absorb them to strengthen the soul. But that was a method for the wealthy; when supplies were scarce, using them for rapid recovery during states of soul weakness was the most appropriate approach.
He placed the two Soul Golden Beads into his interspatial ring, then once again connected his consciousness to the Coiling Dragon book deep within his soul. Sure enough, now that he was a Lowgod, he could browse the chapters covering Linley's time as a Lowgod, up until Book 14, Chapter 16, where Linley reached the Midgod realm.
Compared to the treasures obtained in the Yulan material plane, Linley had acquired far more after entering Hell. In particular, in Book 14, Chapter 10, when Linley and his companions entered the Fiend Castle, everything they saw could be materialized as long as it had appeared in the original book.
Highgod Godheads and Highgod artifacts were all available, but Sean only scanned them briefly. He only materialized some Inkstone, a set of Highgod defensive artifacts, ten Amethysts purchased by Linley, and one Soul Golden Bead.
He did not materialize the rest, as they were of no use to him right now; he would deal with them when the need arose in the future.
However, the Lowgod Godheads were of great significance to him.
With a thought, Sean flipped back to an earlier chapter: Book 11, Chapter 37: Godhead.
These were the three Lowgod Godheads Linley had obtained in the Necropolis of the Gods while he was still a Saint. They were of the Destruction, Wind, and Earth attributes. Sean could have materialized them back when he was a Saint, but he couldn't have used them.
But things were different now; he was already a Lowgod.
As the three Godheads appeared in the space before him, a grey film deep within Sean's soul suddenly released a strange impulse. It directly affected his soul and body, much like how a starving person who hadn't eaten for three days would feel upon seeing a bowl of braised chicken with rice.
Eat it. This seemed to be an instinctive call.
Sean did not hesitate. He knew that the God-Eater Rat relied on devouring Godheads to strengthen its own body, eventually reaching the level of a Sovereign Artifact—though that was something only a Highgod could achieve.
But even as a Lowgod, devouring Lowgod Godheads could strengthen his physical body to a significant degree. After all, even a Lowgod Godhead was condensed from the Laws of the World, and its hardness far exceeded that of a Highgod artifact.
One had to admit, the innate talent of the God-Eater Rat was truly heaven-defying. A body comparable to a Sovereign Artifact, soul attacks on par with a Grand Perfection, paired with a soul-defensive Sovereign Artifact, and if one fused three or four types of Profound Mysteries, then aside from a Grand Perfection, one would be invincible.
Sean randomly chose a Wind-style Lowgod Godhead and swallowed it. Immediately, he felt a mysterious power within his body envelop the Godhead, slowly corroding its surface.
The progress was very slow, however. Sean estimated that it would take about a month to digest this first Godhead.
He was in no rush anyway. After reaching the God level, he needed to continue his secluded cultivation. First, he had to familiarize himself with his divine power and hopefully develop his own signature moves.
Second, his two Profound Mysteries were not yet fully fused. There was no helping it; the comprehension of the Shadow Clone Profound Mystery came naturally with the God-Eater Rat bloodline, and he had no control over it. Fusing Profound Mysteries was inherently difficult; even the simplest Darkness Element Profound Mystery could not be mastered in just a few years.
Yet, the Shadow Clone Profound Mystery had reached perfection within this plane space in just a few years.
Therefore, after becoming a God, it was the perfect time to continue fusing Profound Mysteries and bring the Darkness Element Profound Mystery to perfection. Theoretically, this would allow him to directly become a Midgod.
Third, devouring Godheads could increase his body's hardness, enhancing both his physical defense and physical offense. This would be his most relied-upon survival requirement in the future.
After swallowing the Godhead, Sean once again communicated with the Coiling Dragon book in his soul. Starting from Book 10, he looked forward step by step until just before Linley became a Midgod, finding dozens of Lowgod Godheads, all of which he materialized.
As for the Midgod and higher Godheads, Sean ignored them, leaving them in the book. He then took the opportunity to materialize many interspatial rings from deceased God-level experts; these might contain many good things.
Treasures in the Coiling Dragon world were quite rare, and with these few items, Sean felt it was enough. He withdrew from his connection with the Coiling Dragon book and turned his attention to the Coiling Dragon Ring in his hand.
Now that he was at the Lowgod level, he could officially bind this soul-defensive Sovereign Artifact. Even if it was damaged, its future value would be immense.
Not to mention the future, he needed to rely on this soul-defensive Sovereign Artifact right now to refine Soul Golden Beads or Amethysts; otherwise, even with these treasures before him, he would have no way to use them.
Divine power was useless against a soul-defensive Sovereign Artifact—Linley had tried this in the original work—so Sean directly probed the Coiling Dragon Ring with his divine sense.
Suddenly.
An extremely powerful soul aura made contact with Sean's divine sense. The strength of this aura made Sean feel like an ordinary person encountering a high and mighty Saint-level magical beast.
"Lucky little guy." A deep, resonant voice echoed in Sean's mind. "This is a ring I loved very much during my lifetime. It is a soul-defensive Sovereign Artifact.
However, it is damaged now. It failed to protect me, and naturally, it was destroyed. To repair it, one can only rely on spiritual energy to slowly nurture it, allowing it to gradually recover...
As for the time it will take, I cannot predict. Actually, I would love to know who obtained this ring of mine, but unfortunately, I no longer have that chance. Never again..."
While Sean was still stunned, the power vanished.
"What the hell? The final recorded message of the Azure Dragon Sovereign before his death was also materialized along with it?" Sean was somewhat dazed.
When he first obtained the materialization ability, he had learned that no living creature could be materialized, which was why Doering Cowart inside the Coiling Dragon Ring had not been materialized.
"Could it be that because this was just a recorded message left by the Azure Dragon Sovereign before his death, which he placed inside the soul-defensive Sovereign Artifact using a special technique, it doesn't count as a living being? While Doering, though lacking a physical body, still possesses consciousness and thus counts as a life form?" Sean thought about it carefully and felt this made some sense, so he didn't dwell on it further.
He began to inspect the pile of interspatial rings he had just materialized. Especially among the rings of the Hell experts, Sean discovered quite a few Inkstones, Godheads, and Soul Golden Beads, along with some items he didn't recognize.
Higher Planes, Hell, Blood Peak Continent, within the territory of Youlan Prefecture, in the Tianji Mountain Range:
This was the headquarters of the Four Divine Beasts Clan, the strongest clan in the Higher Planes, and the place where the Four Divine Beasts Sovereigns were born at the dawn of the world. Because of this, even though the four Sovereigns represented the four elemental laws of Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind, the core of the Four Divine Beasts Clan remained in Hell.
Only the most elite experts of the Four Divine Beasts Clan could reside in the Tianji Mountain Range.
In the deepest part of the Tianji Mountain Range, in the middle of a lake spanning a thousand miles, stood a palace complex covering over ten miles. Inside the palace, a man in green robes suddenly opened his eyes, a hint of surprise appearing in his gaze.
