Just how difficult are the Greenskins, those beasts known as the cancer of the universe, to deal with?
Gu Hang saw it with his own eyes today.
As the battle neared its end, he had personally led the remaining troops into the fray, intending to deliver the final blow while also experiencing the smoke and fire of war up close, when he heard a massive, bear-like roar.
Following that, a mutant giant at least two point two meters tall, with well-developed, sturdy muscles and dark green skin, appeared before him.
The creature was nearly naked, with only a few strips of cloth hanging off him; clearly, his suddenly enlarged physique had burst his original clothing apart.
His skin was a solid dark green and appeared extremely rough. The firearm in his hand had a wild style, with most of its components looking quite haphazard; in the hands of an ordinary person, it would be like carrying a hand cannon or a rocket launcher, but to this guy, it was like a standard shotgun, one he could even hold and use with a single hand.
His appearance immediately drew the attention of the surrounding soldiers. The Servitors aimed their G7 Assault Rifles at him and pulled the triggers, the fierce firepower of the automatic rifles covering him completely.
However, a shocking scene unfolded: this dark green mutant giant had taken so many shots and was completely unfazed!
In that instant, at least a dozen rifles were firing at him. He didn't fall, and the soldiers, naturally, didn't let go of their triggers, dumping full magazines into him. The Greenskin monster was large and not moving erratically, so most of the bullets hit their mark.
Logically speaking, unless he was truly made of iron, any flesh and blood would have been shredded to pieces.
But that didn't happen.
The guy was still standing there, perfectly fine.
Some bullets were deflected, some lost all kinetic energy and fell, and some embedded themselves into his skin and muscles but couldn't penetrate deep...
He bled a little, but it was by no means a life-threatening injury.
Kaga, having just finished his transformation, regained his senses after the initial shock. He still possessed a sliver of self-awareness and knew that even though he had transformed and grown stronger, his primary goal was still to escape as quickly as possible.
And so, he took off running toward the edge of the camp.
His taller frame and more powerful muscles did not make him bloated; instead, they made him faster and more agile. Once he started moving, the accuracy of the Servitor soldiers plummeted.
If he had ignored everything and just kept his head down and ran, he might have actually had a chance to escape.
But during this process, his attention was constantly drawn by the nearby Servitor soldiers, and he couldn't help but want to attack them.
On one hand, being hit made him irritable—the bullets from the Assault Rifles weren't fatal, but they still caused pain; on the other hand, the effects of the serum were rapidly hitting his brain, and the bloodthirsty desire constantly urged him to go on a killing spree.
Finally, he couldn't hold back anymore.
He was still running, but he slowed down slightly. He turned his head, aimed the ugly, crude large gun in his hand at a Servitor, and pulled the trigger.
The muzzle erupted with thick black smoke, and the cluster of shotgun pellets blasted the entire upper body of that Servitor soldier into nothingness. Bits of flesh and gore exploded everywhere, and quite a bit even splattered onto Kaga.
The Greenskin beast, bathed in blood, became even more violent.
He pulled the bolt, fired another blast, and another Servitor soldier died a miserable death.
He tried to fire again, but no bullets came out. The shotgun in his hand only had two rounds.
Kaga instinctively reached into his chest, seemingly wanting to reload, but he grabbed nothing. His clothes had been blown away, let alone any ammunition he might have been carrying.
He simply discarded the wild shotgun and lunged directly at his third victim.
The targeted Servitor soldier raised his rifle to fire, retreating as he fought, but before he could get many shots off, the lightning-fast Greenskin beast had already reached him. With a sweep of his large hand, the Servitor was grabbed and lifted, and then his entire body was torn in two.
Lifting the corpse over his head, with blood pouring down from above, Kaga felt nothing but pleasure, even feeling that his already peerless physique had reached a new level. The tiny bit of reason he had left told him that this was the serum further stimulating his body's potential, which might not be a good thing. But that bit of worry, that bit of struggle, was immediately washed away by a tidal wave of battle lust.
He only wanted to keep killing.
A grenade was thrown to his feet and exploded, but Kaga had already rolled away to avoid it before it went off.
A machine gunner had set up a firing point a hundred meters away, and a string of bullets whistled toward him. But at this distance, the combat instincts imprinted by the serum and diffused into Kaga's blood allowed him to dodge most of the gunfire with serpentine movements while maintaining his forward charge.
At this moment, his eyes were bloodshot, and he only wanted to tear this machine gunner to pieces as well.
But just then, he suddenly stumbled, and his entire body slammed hard into the ground due to momentum.
He couldn't feel his left leg, as if it had been severed by something.
Looking down, his left leg was still perfectly attached to his body, not even suffering much damage. But he couldn't command it at all, as if the leg on his body didn't belong to him.
Using his hands and his remaining foot, he barely propped his body up. Lifting his head, he saw a man in fine clothing, protected by several Marines, walking from behind the machine gunner.
He opened his mouth wide, attempting to roar, but a burst of machine-gun fire hit him squarely, stifling his roar.
Even the rapid fire of a squad machine gun, which had much higher power than the Assault Rifles, couldn't quickly eliminate him. However, the Eagle electromagnetic rifles in the hands of the Marines were on another level entirely.
The metal spikes fired by electromagnetic acceleration were able to pierce his skin and muscle defenses. After four Marines emptied their magazines, Kaga had been turned into a honeycomb.
But he wasn't dead yet; he still had a breath left, and even the holes punched into his body were slowly self-repairing.
Gu Hang walked up leisurely: "So this is Kaga? The leader of the Prisoner-Dead? To be able to complete the transformation of humans... the technology of those Greenskins is a bit absurd."
He didn't actually care about Kaga as a person; it was just the state this guy displayed after mutating that was worrying.
Kaga could no longer speak, only emitting meaningless roars from his throat.
Gu Hang couldn't be bothered to say anything more. He waved his hand, and the soldiers behind him took over the cleanup work.
A series of metal spikes fired from the electromagnetic rifles turned the green beast's head into mush.
Dealing with a Greenskin was a troublesome matter. Killing it was only the beginning; one had to incinerate every place its blood had touched and every place its corpse had stayed with high-temperature flames. Otherwise, it might not be long before a bunch of mushrooms grew there, eventually turning into little Greenskin monsters. First Snotlings, then Gretchins, and then Orc Boyz...
Although this Greenskin beast was likely a mutation of the Prisoner-Dead leader for some unknown reason, who knew if a similar situation might occur?
Regardless, the battle was over, and there was plenty of time to clear the battlefield.
Gu Hang also had to take stock of his gains.
