Background / History
Sacrifice and survival
Ah Yin was a Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor who took human form, married Tang Wu, and became Tang San’s mother. She sacrificed herself to save her husband, leaving him her soul ring and leaving behind an incompletely matured seed. Tang Wu cultivated the seed in a waterfall cave for years, but his soul-power nourishment produced little progress toward resurrection 162.
Her surviving plant retained weak spirituality and an instinctive attachment to Tang Wu. When he touched its leaves, they curled affectionately around his finger. Within her shattered Sea of Consciousness, her dormant human-shaped imprint remained intact, while her memories had fragmented around lingering attachments to her husband and child 170.
Revival and conditioning
After learning that Mu Junyu could revive plants, Tang Wu abducted him in hopes of restoring Ah Yin. Mu Junyu agreed to attempt treatment while privately seeking a way to control her. His Heart-Eroding Venom established symbiosis with her plant body, strengthened its life aura, and allowed him to enter her mental world while Tang Wu guarded the cave 162 169 170.
Mu Junyu combined genuine restoration with deliberate psychological manipulation. He supplied life energy and Soul Blood, distanced memories of Tang Wu and Tang San, and alternated reassurance with intimidation and punishment. He cast himself as her endangered savior and Tang Wu as the threat to that savior, eventually inducing her to declare that her husband deserved to die 171 174 175.
Ah Yin then accepted a master–slave framework, although the system warned that it required further behavioral reinforcement. Mu Junyu persuaded Tang Wu to return her soul ring and soul bone by presenting them as necessary for revival. The narration explicitly states that basic resurrection did not require their return: they restored her former foundation while also weakening Tang Wu 176.
The returned ring and bone stabilized Ah Yin’s mental world and restored her spiritual power. Direct energy feeding subsequently brought her affection toward Mu Junyu to its maximum, allowing him to obtain and apply the Life Emblem. When her physical resurrection completed, she knelt before Mu Junyu and acknowledged him as her master 177 180 181 183.
Appearance
Ah Yin has a slender, graceful human form and an ethereal bearing compared to a forest fairy. Her restored spiritual form combines elegance with the natural majesty of a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast emperor 170 177.
- Hair: Originally blue; after rebirth, explicitly described as half blue and half purple 170 188 204.
- Eyes: Originally azure; post-rebirth passages describe mismatched eyes, while later scenes again emphasize deep-blue eyes 170 188 280.
- Clothing: A white silk dress in her mental world, pale-blue or cyan dresses in public, and a moon-white palace dress in a later appearance 170 188 204 280.
- Plant body: Initially a small stalk of Blue Silver Grass with golden markings. During restoration, crystalline blue-gold vines spread across much of the cave 172 181.
- Awakened origin: Green-gold light flickers at the ends of her hair during deep dual cultivation 283.
Personality
Before her sacrifice, Ah Yin is remembered as gentle and loving. Her surviving spirituality initially preserves attachment to Tang Wu, and even during Mu Junyu’s interference, fragments of maternal concern briefly resist his attempts to turn her against her family 162 170 175.
Her first awakened consciousness is confused, vulnerable, and intensely dependent on the life energy Mu Junyu provides. Restoring her spiritual foundation brings back composure, imperial authority, and sharper perception; she becomes capable of sly teasing rather than merely frightened compliance 173 177 179.
Her later devotion is the result of conditioning and soul branding, not an untouched continuation of her former personality. She defines her identity through satisfying Mu Junyu and considers his interests more important than her family ties. Toward him she is affectionate and submissive; toward perceived threats, including Tang San, she can be cold and ruthless 204 228 229 284.
Ah Yin also reproduces the methods used against her. She treats Tang Yuehua’s conditioning as a meaningful task, concealing manipulation beneath familial tenderness and regarding submission to Mu Junyu as the happiness she should help others attain 206.
