Not just Obito—the other three understood, too. Good grief, their Grandmaster's counterpart in the Otherworld was actually in charge of an entire country!
It was hard to believe. The only shame was that their Otherworld counterpart, Yahiko, had passed away.
What a pity. They'd been hoping to meet him.
"So that's how it is. All right, then, Auntie, please take us to meet the leader."
Konan nodded and led the four of them away. But Obito soon realized they were getting farther and farther from Amegakure.
"Auntie, what's going on?"
"Amegakure is being demolished, and all the residents have moved out. Naturally, the leader isn't here."
The four exchanged glances, all convinced that this had to be their Grandmaster's doing.
Otherwise, Amegakure couldn't possibly be so prosperous.
Konan led them to an unremarkable valley. It didn't look like much from the outside, but after they entered a hidden cave, they found a whole other world inside.
"This used to be the Akatsuki's meeting place. It was abandoned for a long time and only recently put back into use."
People came and went through the cave, but it wasn't chaotic. Everyone was focused on their work, and everything ran smoothly.
"Konan, you're back."
Nagato gazed at Konan with warmth in his eyes. Things had been terribly chaotic lately. Fortunately, Konan and Yahiko had been helping him, and the situation was gradually stabilizing.
"Mm. These four are the reinforcements I brought from Konoha. They're disciples of the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, and they're pretty capable. Give them some assignments."
Nagato had heard that Konan was going to find reinforcements, but he hadn't expected her to bring back the Fourth Hokage's disciples. He wasn't sure what to assign them.
Seeing his hesitation, Konan spoke up. "This was also our master's decision.
