Chapter 1048: Choice
Itachi naturally knew about the Otherworld. Everyone in Konoha knew about it.
He just hadn't been there himself. He'd only heard about it from friends who had gone.
They said it was incredibly advanced, had all sorts of fun things, and that the village was much bigger than this one.
Itachi was so envious that he secretly vowed he'd visit that so-called Otherworld one day and see for himself what it was really like.
As he thought about it, he entered the inn and made his way to the room number his father had given him.
He knocked softly.
Within seconds, the door opened on its own, and billowing white clouds poured out.
It was like something from a dream, but Itachi stayed on guard, thinking it might be some kind of attack ninjutsu.
"Don't be alarmed, child. Your father sent you, didn't he? Come in and let me have a look at you."
"You're so young, yet you have such courage. Truly impressive."
Hearing the voice from inside the room, Uchiha Itachi felt that it sounded familiar.
Ignoring the clouds around him, he walked straight into the room.
The first thing he saw was Torifu, sitting cross-legged in midair.
"Y-You're Kumonaka Torikaze!"
Torifu opened his eyes and looked at Uchiha Itachi. "How do you know who I am?"
Itachi scratched his head. "From the Game..."
After losing to someone in the Naruto Mobile Game, the frustration and feeling of having one's pride trampled could briefly overwhelm members of the Uchiha Clan, causing them to awaken the Sharingan.
That was why Fugaku had started "forcing" every child in the clan to play Naruto as early as he could.
