Background / History

Torifu belonged to the Kumonaka Clan, whose sparse family records describe a mysterious ancestor as the creator of Cloud Release. He suspected this ancestor, Yunzhong Huachen, might not have originated from the shinobi world, especially because neither the Kumonaka Clan nor Cloud Release existed in the world he remembered before transmigrating. 41

By age six, Torifu had already developed several powerful techniques. His Crystal Release drew the attention of Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju, prompting Hashirama to take him as a personal disciple. Tobirama also sought to guide him in ninjutsu development and repeatedly wished he could claim Torifu as his own student. 12 17

At seven, Hashirama formally awarded Torifu a Konoha forehead protector. By then, his combat ability had reached the upper jōnin tier, and his reputation as a genius had spread through the village. 41 His mission record later became notable for having no documented failures. 112

Torifu is a tall, white-haired man whose hair carries a faint gray tint. By his early teens, he had reached approximately 1.7 meters in height. 82 112

Torifu’s rise began with Hashirama recognizing his Crystal Release and accepting him as a disciple. As a child prodigy, he developed numerous ninjutsu and constructed a Crystal Flower-and-Cloud Mist barrier around Konoha’s surrounding forest to detect intruders. 12 45
