"Hey, hey, hey, Danzo! Did you see that? Master is smiling at that kid!"
Hiruzen Sarutobi shook his companion incessantly, desperate for him to confirm that this wasn't actually happening!
Danzo endured the dizziness and spat out, "Stop shaking me, Hiruzen! You're going to make me throw up my breakfast!"
Seeing that Danzo was about to pass out from the shaking, Hiruzen finally let go with an apologetic look.
But he still couldn't understand why his master, usually so stern, was being so gentle today—and not even toward him!
"So it's him."
Kagami Uchiha muttered to himself, but his faint voice was still caught by Hiruzen.
He hooked his arm around Kagami's shoulder and said with a righteous expression, "Kagami! Do you know something? Out with it!"
Kagami Uchiha looked at the clownish Hiruzen and laughed helplessly, "That's Kumonaka Torikaze, the Hokage's disciple."
Hiruzen suddenly felt that it might have been better to stay in the dark and remain ignorant.
Anything would have been better than knowing this piece of news.
Hiruzen slumped to the ground, looking dejected as he said, "When did the Hokage take on a disciple! How come I didn't know?"
Kagami Uchiha smiled, "Just yesterday. Half of Konoha knows about it already."
Hiruzen cast his gaze toward his surrounding companions, but all he received were nods of confirmation.
Kagami then asked, "By the way, none of you recognize the Kumonaka Clan?"
Hearing Kagami say this, the group suddenly remembered that this kid was actually from the Kumonaka Clan.
Only Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura remained completely confused, as they were commoners.
At this point, Danzo explained, "The Kumonaka Clan is an ancient family; no one knows their origins."
"The family line is passed down to only one heir per generation. The clansmen are skilled at manipulating clouds and mist, and each one is incredibly powerful. Few dare to provoke them."
Hiruzen regained his energy and nodded, adding, "Also, also, I heard that because the previous head, Kumonaka Yama, couldn't master their secret technique, the Kumonaka Clan had no choice but to join Konoha."
Torifu Akimichi, who was snacking on the side, was quite interested in this boy who shared his name.
He chimed in with his own opinions from time to time.
"So, does that mean this kid has already mastered that secret technique?" Utatane Koharu asked.
"Why?" Hiruzen's eyes went wide, not understanding why she would say that.
Utatane Koharu was speechless, rubbing her twitching eyelid with one hand, "No way, Hiruzen. You're the young heir of the Sarutobi Clan! You don't even know this?"
Upon hearing this, Hiruzen sprang up like a carp, "I don't like the sound of that! How could I not know? I was just trying to liven up the atmosphere!"
Just as everyone waited for his profound insight, he stammered and couldn't string together a complete sentence.
Hiruzen gave in, "Alright, I really don't know. Just tell me."
Seeing that Hiruzen wasn't faking it, Danzo said, "A six-year-old child being taken as a disciple by the Hokage must have extraordinary qualities; otherwise, the Hokage wouldn't take a student for no reason."
"It's that simple?"
"Heh, and you didn't even understand that!" Koharu mocked from the side.
Hiruzen's face turned beet red, but he still stubbornly insisted, "Tch, I was just pretending. How could I not know? I was just testing you all. Congratulations, you passed!"
Everyone had black lines on their foreheads, but they had to admit that without Hiruzen, this group would probably be dull and lifeless all day long.
"Monkey! Why haven't you lot come over yet!"
Hearing Master Tobirama calling them, the group immediately jogged over, fearing that their master would punish them for being late.
"Master, Lord Hokage, good morning!" Hiruzen and the others greeted respectfully.
Tobirama merely nodded at the words, while Hashirama said with a beaming smile, "Good morning, children."
He scanned the group with his eyes and asked, "Kagami, why didn't your sister come?"
Only then did Kagami suddenly realize he seemed to have forgotten his sister.
He said apologetically, "Sorry, Lord Hokage. We were having a race to see who could reach the mountaintop first, and I..."
Senju Hashirama held his forehead helplessly. Who would have thought that even the usually diligent Kagami would make such a mistake?
It could only be said that he still had the spirit of a youth; he was just too easily carried away.
Sure enough, a moment later, a figure emerged from the horizon, wearing a look of resentment.
Kagami guiltily turned his head away, not daring to meet Chirori's eyes.
And although Chirori was very angry, both Master Tobirama and the Hokage were present.
She couldn't afford to act out of line, so she would just have to let her brother off the hook this time!
"Alright, everyone is here now. Let's introduce ourselves to one another, starting with Torikaze."
Kumonaka Torikaze stepped forward and offered a gentle smile: "Hello everyone, I am Kumonaka Torikaze, head of the Kumonaka Clan. Please take care of me."
"Hello everyone, I am Izori Uchiha, Kagami's younger sister. Please take care of me."
Next came the introductions from Hiruzen Sarutobi and the others; Torikaze felt he already knew them quite well.
Taking this opportunity, Torikaze carefully observed the appearance of each person.
They looked quite different from the elderly versions he knew from his memories.
Hiruzen Sarutobi wore his Konoha headband and introduced himself with great care.
His eyes sparkled, and the gazes of his companions were filled with faint admiration.
It was easy to see that he was considered the leader of this squad.
Danzo spoke in a steady tone with clear logic, clearly a smart man.
The contrast with Hiruzen Sarutobi was stark; it was worth noting that he did not yet have the scar on his chin.
Mitokado Homura wore glasses and didn't look particularly special; you might not even recognize him if you saw him on the street.
What surprised Torikaze, however, was that Utatane Koharu was actually a great beauty in her youth.
Her hair styled in a bun even gave her a heroic air.
Torifu Akimichi was nothing out of the ordinary, possessing a standard chubby physique.
However, since he could be accepted as a disciple by Lord Tobirama, he surely had some tricks up his sleeve.
The final highlight was Kagami Uchiha; one could tell from the expressions on everyone's faces that they had a very good relationship with him.
He was thoughtful and steady, yet not rigid or old-fashioned, and his kind and humble demeanor always made people feel at ease.
With his deep blue hair and the standard handsome face of an Uchiha, he would surely have captivated thousands of young girls if he were in school.
Torikaze had finally seen all the future power-holders of Konoha in the flesh.
Setting aside their merits or flaws in old age, they were all full of youthful vigor right now.
Each of them was as dazzling as the rising sun, radiating confidence from head to toe.
"Alright! Now that everyone has met, you can slowly get to know each other better as you spend time together in the future," Senju Hashirama said boisterously.
He then turned his gaze toward the village, and Tobirama, Torikaze, and the others followed suit.
The view from here was expansive, allowing them to overlook the entire village.
People starting their work in the early morning, children on their way to school... and so on, everything was in full view.
"After all, the future of Konoha will surely be entrusted to you!"
Upon hearing these words, an indescribable feeling welled up within everyone.
Perhaps it was because of the Hokage's trust, perhaps it was their own deep love for the village, or perhaps it was a combination of many things.
But regardless of the reason, a seed named Konoha had been planted in their hearts at this very moment.
One day, this seed would take root, sprout, and grow into a towering tree.
"Where the leaves of Konoha dance, the fire shall burn on!"
