Anhua had become a department head, a position with considerable authority, but she hadn't abused it for personal gain. Every employee hired to work at the factory had stood up to scrutiny.
Sometimes Torifu felt that he was making Konoha look more and more like a company. They even had a Personnel Department now.
He just wondered when they'd go public.
After he finished his call and looked up at Amado, he saw him staring off into space, apparently lost in thought.
He looked almost dazed, his right foot still tracing circles on the ground. Torifu didn't know what to make of it.
"Hey, what are you doing? You look like an idiot."
Torifu's scolding brought Amado back to his senses. As he recalled the images that had just flashed through his mind, he immediately panicked.
"Cough, cough! It's nothing, nothing. I'm just not quite awake yet. I'll be fine once I get moving."
Then he started doing chest stretches.
Torifu could more or less guess what Amado was thinking, but he wasn't sure.
Even if there was something going on between Amado and Anhua, it might just be Amado pining for her alone.
After all, Torifu hadn't heard or seen the slightest sign that Anhua was interested in Amado.
So until he knew for sure, it was better not to let on that he suspected anything.
"Fine. I've told you before not to stay up late all the time. I bet you went to bed late again last night."
Amado gave a sheepish grin and scratched his head. "Well, it's become a habit. I can't change it overnight. I'll take it slow, okay?"
Torifu waved a hand helplessly. "All right, I get it. Go on and get back to work."
Amado immediately looked relieved and scampered off.
