After a moment's thought, Klein took a Slumber Charm from his pocket, infused it with Spirituality, and tossed it away.
"Crimson!"
The gas lamps in the living room suddenly dimmed, while the faint sound of a peaceful choir echoed around them.
The scattered chunks of flesh piled on the floor fell silent and stopped writhing, as if they had truly died.
"Crimson!"
Klein threw another Slumber Charm at the bodyguard, who had also been affected by the True Creator's words, making her fall silent as well.
Then he looked at Cyrin. "You... why did you suddenly come here? Have you dealt with the Spirit World Creature that was chasing you?"
Cyrin pointed at the pile of quieted flesh on the floor.
"Not completely, but your bodyguard will be able to take care of it once she wakes up."
"I divined an opportunity to solve the problem, so I led it here. I happened to arrive in time for the battle and got caught up in it."
He glanced down at the Peacemaker in his hand and chuckled ruefully.
"Sometimes the negative effects of a Mystical Item aren't entirely negative. If I hadn't been carrying it around, I couldn't have arrived here at just the right time."
"You still have to deal with the scene, so I'll be going."
"Remember to have your bodyguard take care of that pile of flesh for me. I won't charge you for guarding you this time."
With that, he turned and walked away, waving as his figure gradually blurred where the gas streetlamps couldn't reach.
Klein withdrew his gaze and looked at the pile of flesh on the floor, murmuring, "Are Astrologers' Divinations really that impressive? Can they even pinpoint the right opportunity to solve a problem?"
"Or is he just a little unusual himself?"
