Chapter 54: Men (A 4,200-word chapter!)
Amid the roar, two figures were sent flying backward at the same time.
"Your hand's shaking, girly-man!" Wu Biao tilted his head, his face twisted in a cruel, mocking grin. "Still not gonna use that Bankai thing? You captains can all do it, right?"
Byakuya Kuchiki said nothing. Instead, he lowered his head and glanced at his right hand, trembling from the unceasing impacts. A grave look appeared on his face.
He had gotten stronger.
Compared to when they'd met in the Human World, this man's strength had multiplied beyond measure!
It was hard to imagine that a mere human could strengthen his body to such an extent. Even though Byakuya had tried to overestimate him from the very beginning, he had still underestimated him.
The shock traveling through his Zanpakuto numbed his arm with every strike.
"Very well." Byakuya spoke slowly, reversing his grip on the Zanpakuto before his chest and pointing its tip at the ground. "Since you insist so strongly, engrave this sight into those eyes of yours. My Bankai!"
As he spoke, he released the Zanpakuto.
"What's wrong? Did your Brother Biao beat you so badly you can't even hold your sword anymore?" Wu Biao sneered.
But that clearly wasn't what was happening. The Zanpakuto fell straight into the ground, and almost as soon as its hilt vanished beneath the surface, an incredibly sharp wind rippled outward.
Its cutting edge could be felt in the wind; as it swept over the skin, it seemed to slice right through it!

With a quiet hum, two rows of enormous blades appeared on either side of Byakuya, towering into the sky. There were over a thousand of them, forming a passageway made entirely of blades.
